What happened to the tradition of the home side wearing the change strip? I know it's a hangover from amateur days but a nice touch still.

Isn't that just in international rugby though?

Quite a few clubs have adopted the football approach of an away kit. They sell more shirts that way. The Ospreys do this, Black home, White away unless they are traveling to a side with a White kit, where they take their first kit. That way the fans know what kit will be worn and buy the appropriate shirt.

I prefer the old traditional approach, but times change.

Tigers now have three kits football style. Green red and white for home, then orange for away and white for Europe.

Back in the amateur days, the theory went that it was easier for the home team to cope if the normal kits clashed.

However now we are professional at the top level kit is just a retail opportunity.
