Nadal had a two handed forehand, I think Benneteau is the guy who has reached ten finals and never won. I think the answer to 5) is gaudio. And number 7 is easy that is Marcelo Rios. These are the ones I know off the top of my head.

Are you sure on question 10 IMBL? I admit to looking up on the ATP website and can't find a tournament Wawrinka and Del Po have both won (Stan has actually won very very few tournaments). Or is it a Futures or Challenger event?

Re: 606v2 Tennis Quiz
Also, does "y" count as a consonant? In French it's a vowel (or used to be back when I was being taught such things).
If so I suspect BS is right on 1 (though I've never heard of the lad)
2 is Paris Masters.
3 and 4 I'm tossing up between Bautista Agut and Lopez, Benneteau and Gasquet.
5 I have a feeling it wasn't on clay, so would guess socal is wrong. No idea of the answer though, someone unexpected I would guess.
6 I have no idea
7 Rios
8 Benneteau
9 Nadal hit two-handed off both wings, Toni told him to drop a hand off one wing, he chose the left-handed FH.
10 Like I said I'm not sure is right...

There's a reason why you can't seem to find it on the ATP site (even though it's on there), I won't tell you why as that might give it away
It's an ATP event that's on every year.

Nadal- two handed forehand is correct- but with which hand did he play with ?socal1976 wrote:Nadal had a two handed forehand, I think Benneteau is the guy who has reached ten finals and never won. Benneteau is correct, he has a 0-10 finals record.
5) is not Gaudio
Rios however is indeed correct, well done

Re: 606v2 Tennis Quiz
Ok, on Q10 the events I know Stan has won are Oz, whichever clay masters he won this year and Chennai. DP definitely hasn't won any of those.
I think Stan's other titles are all small clay court events in the pre RG / post Wimbledon spell. DP also won a couple of those in 2008 in that 4 tournament winning run he had. Fed may well have won one of those early in his career and I remember he won Estoril a few years ago. No idea if Novak won one of those early in his career.
I think it must therefore be a small clay court event but I don't know which one. Possibly Morocco?

Re: 606v2 Tennis Quiz
Number 5 is a either a trick question or incorrectly worded.
5/ Between 2004 and 2006 Nadal lost 3 ATP & ITF event finals. 2 of them were against Federer (Miami 2005 & Wimby 2006). Who was the third player to beat Nadal in a final ?
i.e. If Federer beat him 2 out of the 3 finals then only one other player (making two in total) can have beat him in a final. Therefore there can't have been a third player (unless the other final he lost was a doubles match??!).
So the answer is....no one.
Was Djoko's first doubles title in Serbia? Didn't he start and run a tournament in his home country? Did he enter the doubles there and win (I'm guessing it wasn't a strong line-up). Complete guess.

Yes sorry you're right, that was a typo; I should have said either second player or player in the third final.Johnyjeep wrote:Number 5 is a either a trick question or incorrectly worded.

All of Socal's 10 final losses came to me by the way.
The tenth one was on the clay of Paris, it was the deciding set tiebreak and Socal unfortunately tripped over and fell on the net on an easy volley match point down. Luckily he didn't fall to the side, or he may have knocked over some of my perfectly arranged bottles.
To be fair though the guy playing the semi withdrew from the match due to injury, so Socal was going into the match a bit undercooked.
