Wilder V Stiverne Weigh-in 10.30pm Tonight
Official Showtime broadcast available online.
The little guys are good but you know boxing is back in town when there's a big heavyweight fight.

Wilder looks a bit rattled. Stiverne very confident. Might just be pre-fight nerves.

Don't think Wilder looked nervous personally, just looked like he'd had enough and walked off. Never read anything in to these though.

219 sounded light to me, but we know he has the power to spark people.
I really hope Wilder wins this, would be massive for boxing.

I thought Wilder wasn't trash talking as much in his interview and looked to be loosing his cool a bit. It could just be nerves. Like you say It doesn't mean a lot.

I thinks it's more what happens when Wilder gets punched hard. He's very light for 6'7. Maybe he going to be very mobile and keep out of range.

I normally get a gut feeling for how a fight will go and when it comes to betting I have a rule 'first thought, best thought'.
This time I'm breaking my rule and changing my mind. I'm going to bet on Stiverne. He looks very well mentally prepared. Wilder is too light which makes me think he is going to try to hit and move but I don't think he has those skills. Stiverne to get inside and KO Wilder.

I'm interested in this and will be watching.
Could be a heavyweight revival if Wilder wins in style, can't ignore him if he passes this test. Just think Stiv will reveal the truth about Wilder one way or another, better or worse.

I fancy Stiverne, really not convinced by Wilders whiskers and whilst Stiverne is not exactly hall of fame stuff he is just a bit more rounded, if he is smart and covers up early think he will take Wilder out late, as Wilder gets more ragged and runs out of ideas.

That would be the way he could win it but - and it's a big but (and I cannot lie) - he hasn't done that in 32 fights. It's a big ask.

Shocked at Wilder's weight...Breland//Hearns-esque..
When I was in High we were told to add 5 pounds for every inch of height..He's the equivalent of 6-3...199!!
He can't take Stiverne's rap at that weight..and Beware can rap..
Mind-change ......Stiverne early..

Re: Wilder V Stiverne Weigh-in 10.30pm Tonight
Wilder has always been light for his height, but this is what 5-10lbs lighter than the norm for him recently It's not uncommon for heavies to adjust their weight to their opponent but this is wilder. He's adapted nothing in 30 fights... And he has weighed less than this before.
Its possible he has a stick and run back up plan if he doesn't bang him out early, but he's also always lean enough to be relatively mobile for a big man. Is it not possible he's just trained harder for this fight and this is what he weighs when in top condition?

It's painfully light Milky...You not think ??
Wonder If he's overtrained ??
Haye was 6ft 3 and 210 for Chisora.......
Not like Heavies are like lighter weight fighters that dehydrate and rehydrate...
My guess is he's overtrained and f**ked up the nutritional bit..
My other guess is when he gets hit he goes..

He's only ever a few pounds heavier in his other fights and as Milky says he's probably trained a lot harder for this fight than any others, still couldn't give a toss about the fight though.

Proof is in the pudding......Could be like Olajide-Tate....Trained so hard you're Knackered on fight night........Those legs though could do with some meat.........Get some Squatting done !!........If you lose a little speed so be it..
Speed isn't as important at heavy..
Funny thing is I give a toss because it's an intriguing matchup for a belt at heavy ..........Hasn't been one for nearly 15 years..

I'm the same HH, I can see why American fans would be excited about a possible heavyweight titlist but let's be honest, Wlad is the the heavyweight division. This is an eliminator.

Re: Wilder V Stiverne Weigh-in 10.30pm Tonight
Did anyone see the press conference to this, Wilder was literally hilarious.
Wilder seemed ridiculously confident about what he was going to do. Didn't think he was nervous in the slightest, just seemed more like he couldn't wait to get it on. Stiverne is a quiet character at all tiems. Can't really read into him, but he's performed when he has had to, Arreola beating him to the jab consistently in the second fight between them makes me doubt him a little however, as the lumbering nipple doesn't exactly have the greatest jab in the Heavyweight division

Re: Wilder V Stiverne Weigh-in 10.30pm Tonight
I assume/would like to believe that Wilder realises this will not be over in 4 rounds and so has done some stamina training bringing his bulk down and allowing him to last.
Otherwise, Stiverne's tactics would be simple. Cover up, ride the rounds and weight for Wilder to punch himself out (lets face it, he couldn't windmill like he does for much more than 4 rounds).
At 20lbs heavier, its unlikely he will be able to bully Stiverne so I still would say Stiverne's tactics are simple. Use the jab, make sure he doesn't get caught for 4 rounds and then start pressing opportunities and win by mid to late KO.
All much easier said than done!

Hope Wilder wins. He seems a nice enough guy, if you ignore the prison tattoos, and has a Backstory. Fringe sports, like obscure talent shows, need champions with backstories.

Good point Strongy. Also, although Stiverne doesn't exactly look ripped, his weight has been consistent at around 239 for his last few fights so no apparent warning sign that he's under-prepared. Think he finds a way to derail Wilder at some point.
