Ashes to ashes, and dust to dust.
So it appears that the Bizarre One is set to retire after WM, with his most recent and arguably greatest run being one hell of a way to bow out, for me personally it's a shame as i love to watch Dustin work and also am a fan of the character that pushes buttons and unnerves the close minded. My one concern is that we may not see the Rhodes vs Rhodes match at WM due to some other uninteresting bout between Rowan and Sheamus for battle of the gingers or some nonsense like that.
how would you see him going out/ in a career vs career contest with cody or a slow and quiet disappearence from tv?

Its a good thing, I've always rated Dunstin Rhodes, he was a phenomenal wrestler and how he made Goldust work in 1995 I'll never know, 95-96 he was on fire, I felt he has excelled again alongside Cody and the transformation into Stardust was highly entertaining too but I really rate Cody, I think he's got a chance of being a Main Eventer, maybe not a star man of the company but a genuine main event go to guy but I don't think he can do that while he has Gokdust in his way, I feel its for the best they oart ways now and its for the best for Dustin ti hang them up to take away the temptation to get inadvertently in Codys way again down the line.
A match between the two has to happen, this is an opportunity ti propel Cody or Stardust, whatever gimmick he uses in the post Mania season, there is so much history to this potential story that umit coukd write itself and then some, it wouldn't be a top billing by any stretch but as far as lower/earky card matches go you'd struggle to find anything that could have a better story than this and you also know if you give them 12+ minutes that you'd get a brilliant match.
WrestleMania match? = No Brainer
No WrestleMania Match? = No Brains

Sounds like it will be just after WM31 and he'll fade out. I'd hate that. Should be a match with Cody, maybe to make him keep the paint on. Put his career on the line to keep Cody as Stardust, he could easily go heel to do it. Seems like WWE want Stardust to continue though, which would be a shame.

I also think Goldust plays "sad" really well, and would sell the story of having to retire in the ring really well. It wouldnt be HBK/Flair, but theres emotion in a brother retiring another

Goldust has been a character in the WWF/E for 20 years now and a lot of people will have grown up with him so I do think they could tap into the emotion of the story, the whole nostalgia of the character alone ahould be able to capture that aspect of it, if they gave it some proper TV time of course

The fact he's been around for 20 years and has always been entertaining in some capacity says it all. Back in 03 when he had tourettes was hilarious. WrestleMaAaaAAAAaaAaania !
Sad to see him go as he's been doing the work of his career with Cody, but I think Stardust has run its course and its time to move on. Dont know how they're going to book it.
