Deadpool
Low budget, not tied to the other films, Ryan Reynolds onboard and now confirmation (kind of) that they're looking at the character properly
Eff yes I can't wait for this

The allure is gone tho.
They should not have included him in that awful Wolverine movie.

Is it eckers like OneTwo, I for one cannot wait to see this and hope it's filmed in a similar way to the test footage.

His first run was spot on Rick, the current one is a bit hit and miss although the early stuff was great. Biggest problem is they've (seemed to) try and shoe horn him into everything which is a pain.

So Reynolds is basically going to reprise his wise cracking character from "Blade Trinity", but in a costume?

Enjoyed him in the orginal X-Force/New Warriors run, now is just a parody of himself (like 90's Lobo) which, can be very good in oneshots or limited edition series, such as the Art of War stuff.
But as a rule he just ticks a shed load of 'Scott Lobdell' boxes (see the crappy red hood and the outlaws run) which get right on my Bristols (though I may be old and miserable and not down with the kids, literally or figureativly)

Re: Deadpool
As much as i'd hate to disagree with you and tear you down (Deadpool is my favourite) that's pretty much spot on Rick.
If you get the chance try and get hold of Deadpool the Gauntlet for what I thought was a cracking showcase of him and then go back to the monthly series to see how they struggle to fit it in sometimes. (although his current crop of storylines haven't been too bad.)

I shall look it up mate, though I did like the "inverted" Deadpool and how, post Axis, he is lamenting it.
But I shall have a look and be willing to be proved wrong

Thought he was good in Blade Trinity.
Thought him and Biel were going to do a spin off a few years ago.

Hey don't get me wrong, I really like him in that film ("Of course it doesn't have the stopping power of...a sword!"). I've heard of Deadpool but not much more than that, so I have no expectations on way or the otherwestisbest wrote:DAVE667 wrote:So Reynolds is basically going to reprise his wise cracking character from "Blade Trinity", but in a costume?

Re: Deadpool
I'm aware that Domino is Cable's love interest and not Deadpool's but personally I'd like Morena to play her. So here's hope she's Domino.
As for Colossus, I think he is in there so they can build up to the X-Force movie which is also in the works or so I've heard so could be a good way to have both Colossus and Domino in the film. (Then again Copycat did impersonate Domino at one point.)
I'm ridiculously excited about this film, I despise Fox for what they did in Origins to Wade, but I've said it time and time again personally for me Reynolds was an awesome Deadpool and is perfect for it. So here's hoping to an awesome film.
As for the antagonist of the film, I'd assume that they will go with Ajax?

Would make sense especially if they want to erase the origins from Wolverine.
As long as it's not T-Ray and that stupid storyline i'll be happy.

Yeah personally I'd rather they ignored the T-Ray thing.
Although I'd love to have Taskmaster (Udon Version) in a Deadpool film at someone point say if it becomes a franchise of such. Though this would need Marvel and Fox to iron some issues on whether Taskmaster is an X-Men villain or an Avengers Villain.

I'm really interested to see how they approach this story, in the comics deadpool knew he was in a comic and they used to break 'the 4th wall' with him interacting with the readers... Do we reckon they will do this in the film?

If they do it like that then it'll be spot on. (It's further down in another thread somewhere) or google it (IT's why the film got greenlit.)

EFF it I love yapping about Deadpool.
Check out his first run (ignore the horrible T-Ray story) and get hold of Deadpool Corps. both fantastic reads.
For something a bit different but still Deadpooly, Grab Deadpool Max I and II (not for younger readers)

I've heard rumours that Ryan Reynolds was not in Deadpool.... Now I hear that he is? Surely the greatest concern is that awful costume. I thought his cameo (and costume) in Wolverine was decent.

Just thought he kicked ass - though I will admit that apart from his appearance in that movie, I know pretty much zilch about deadpool. Also you can't be serious about the lame costume? Just imagine the X-men running around in their rainbow uniforms instead of the cool latex... People would find it hard to take seriously.

Re: Deadpool
If they'd called the character anything but Wade Wilson/Deadpool then I don't hink there'd have been that much of a fuss about it to be honest. But then again we wouldn't have a glimpse of what RR could do.
The costume is cool and I don't think you could do Deadpool without it., the X-men costumes fit the film really well but hated it when they moved it over to the comics

They might yet Dicey, rumours say they cut 8 mil from the budget at some point as they were worried it was going to bomb. Been the biggest opening Rated R film in yankee land for a long time (if ever). Couple of points though
I'm hopeing they turn Vanessa into copycat in the 2nd one
Whilst not my favourite storyline think T-Ray needs to be introduced as he's a big part of the mythos.
Loved Teenage Negosonic Warhead, wouldn't mind seeing a mini series (comic) of her and Colossus's adventures.
Also think every character was spot on and I near enough jumped up screaming when Bob was referenced

Re: Deadpool
My missus nearly killed me in the cinema I was fanboying so hard (a thing I never do, god help her when Aquaman comes out lol)
I say they will turn Vanessa as she hinted at her powers in the movie "I was a lot of things but a Damsel in distress wasn't one of them"
I'd love to see T-Ray in a future film as I liked him (probably the only one) I know the storyline involving him was a bit much but early on in DP's first run he was great
I warmed more to Negasonic than I did to Colossus in the movie but at least DP mentioned his sister Illyana who has a BIG role in the new Xmen comic
The Bob part was one of the highlights of the movie for me as was having Blind Al in it

Re: Deadpool
Sounds like me but I my missus refused to come and went with my mate instead. There's a bunch of stuff they could do for the 2nd movie and i'd have no problem with them including Siryn and T-Ray in fact you could have mixtures of the storyline when Copycat goes off the deep end, ooooh oooooh or you could have the tri storyline with Siryn, Copycat and Typhoid Mary.
I marked out hard for Bob as it was completely unexpected, made better as myt mate and the geezer next to me had no idea what was going on God i loved that film

They could bring in the Cassidy family as Banshee was in Xmen already, so they could have Black Tom and even Juggernaut as the bad guys and introduce Siryn but they are going with Cable and probably a build up to X-Force but the upside is they can introduce some of the lesser known mutants in the MU

No, no fricking Mojo always hated that character. Cable could be alright but think they're jumping the gun a bit as there's loads more stories to tell before then. Although I did love the comic so can't be all bad. Wouldn't mind seeing Outlaw in it as she did become a big hold for him after Agent X (and in that too)

Never read any of the comics, sorry to maybe sound abit thick, but who and when was bob mentioned, i forgot.
it has been a week.
I do like the way the story went back and forth, rather than, 'starting at the beginning'.

Westy westy westy. Hydra Bobs a reoccuring character in the comics that has worked for Hydra, AIM but always ends up back with Pool.
Near the end where he goes to face Ajax and he kills all the henchman bar one and spells out Francis. The one he doesn't kill is Bob

Really enjoyed the film. one of the best I've seen in a long time as it was consistently funny and entertaining. The humour was my sort of scene.
Never read a comic in my life so didn't know what to expect but glad I went.
