Well if anyone remembers shortly after Windy died I stated on here that should this fight be finally made that I will boycott it out of respect for our much missed and much loved Humanwindmill....
but things change...
I think Mayweather will win

Lets not be silly, we all love Windy to bits - boycotting this fight means sod all. Whoever you are and wherever you are if you think this is a farce fight that should have happened 6 years ago or if you're expecting a megafight that eclipses all revenues ever taken by any boxer before shown across the world you will be watching. I guarantee it.
This has Mayweather points written all over it. Both have lost a step or two over the last few years, but Pacquiao has faded faster and more definitively.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, 2nd May 2015. SIGNED!!
I strongly disagree Pacquiao has "faded". His last 4 fights at 147lbs have showed that he still very much has the sharpness and speed he possessed coming up the weight divisions. Admitly, he was caught clean in the Marquez fight, but at that point in time he looked like he was going to close out the fight!
It's arguable the fight is bigger than it was than 6 years given Floyd has shown more vulnerabilities than he has done in the past, but still displaying the skills that has made him P4P #1 for over a decade.
It's still a great contest, possibly the biggest we'll see in a generation.

Pacquiao isn't the same beast that tore through Cotto and rearranged Margarito's face - you have to admit that. He's not looked close to that level of destructive power for some time.

ESPN report:

$400 million fight. $89 PPV with $10 extra for HD.
It's massive.

Well well. Mayweather is so scared of khan he's signed to fight Pacquiao About time is my current feeling but ill be swept up in the hype as we go along.
Re: BREAKING NEWS: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, 2nd May 2015. SIGNED!!
Finally....hasn't the shine to it that it would have had 6 years ago....however it is still by the far the biggest fight in boxing and as has been mentioned, arguably it could be a more enthralling contest now than if it had occured back then.
Another side story which will come from this fight is that it could very well be the fight which sees 2 of the sports greatest finally hang up there gloves (not withstanding a controversial result) and allow the younger guys to step up to the mantle and fight over the mythical P4P top spot.

Pac looked dangerous against Marquez even tho he got lamped.
If that Pacman turns up Floyd is going to have to be at his very best.

Just to add a dash of negativity on it though....89.95 for a PPV....that's disgusting...talk about stickint 2 fingers up to the fans! I'm glad I'm not American (though I fully expect a price of around 30 quid on SKY PPV)...
I look forward to plenty of debates surrounding the undercard and whether it's stacked enough to warrant the near hundred dollar fee

At last!
It will be good but the only loser is Floyd. Even if he wins now, people will say he waited till Pacman faded. If he loses, it will simply confirm that he 'ducked' him all these years.
Floyd has prison and bankruptcy to look forward to. Pacman is a national hero and future senator.
That said, I'm so looking forward to it!

Not trying to condescend ONETWO but if you watch the Pacquiao vs Cotto fight then watch the Marquez fight and see the difference in power.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, 2nd May 2015. SIGNED!!
According to Tim Bradley, Pacquiao still packs a punch.
I don't think power will be the decisive factor in this fight though, it is speed which could determine who comes out on top.
In my humble opinion, Manny is the quicker of the two fighters and unless he has slowed down considerable since the Algieri fight, i believe he will pose Mayweather all kinds of problems with his quickness of hand and foot and the sheer volume of punches he throws.
If Maidana could hit Floyd cleanly then Manny will almost certainly rough him up if he can compel Mayweather to engage.
I'm going for a split decision with Manny winning on points, i feel the judges will look more favourably on his aggression than Mayweather's defensive mastery.
Credit to Floyd for finally taking the fight

I have a feeling this fight will go the way of the second Maidana fight. Floyd on his bike all night with Manny chasing and getting caught......I really hope I'm wrong tho. Fingers crossed it's a great fight as boxing really needs this fight to be great.

I have let my heart rule my head and have gone for Manny on points. I was lucky to watch his fights with Hatton and Cotto in a pub full of Philipinos in Wellington, NZ, and when you see the love his people have for him it's hard not to be drawn into it. Plus listening to the Mayweathers bitching about it afterwards would be gold.

Hard to judge how far Pacqiuao has slipped because his recent opponents Rios and Algeri aren't exactly gifted in the speed department, while Bradley's tactics were completey stupid.
Agree with the thinking it has Floyd points written all over it, he'll be on his bike and afterwards people will call it boring.

A controversial points win for Pacquiao would likely set up two more fights - a huge windfall for Las Vegas.
If he can be competitive, don't rule it out.

Wouldn't bet against Zou Shiming getting a fight that night either. Could push a nine figure audience in China, or the first Chinese PPV.

Very presumptuous to say floyd will end up in jail and broke. The man has many business interests, all the houses and cars already bought and still has a huge ass cash pile, which he will add a 9 figure sum to with this fight alone. He may do $100k bets but I doubt that's even a months interest.
As for the fight,Manny might take 2 or 3 rounds first half before floyd schools him. Floyd ain't getting caught flush, he ain't getting knocked down and he ain't getting beat. Finally this debate is settled on May 2nd...hopefully

Must admit, I'm not particularly excited about this. I'll definitely watch it, and I'm sure come the 2nd of May I'll be at a fever pitch of excitement... but it's taken too long, and there are more intriguing things going on in boxing with long term effects.
Will Golovkin fight the Chubby manlet? Can Lemieux become the middleweight champion of the world? Is Quillin gonna defeat Lee? And just what weight division does Canelo Álvarez fight in? Find out on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z.

'He's a multiple millionaire aint he LOL'
For the second time. He was pretty much bankrupt when showtime signed him up. It was his motivation to sign.
If a fighter had money problems whilst he's fighting and earning, it doesn't bode well for when he's retired. Further, he's another who insists on all the big swinging dick stuff off having and entourage of hangers on, which is guaranteed to drain the bank account. Much was made of taking them to the Caribbean and Miami on the way to new York and sign this fight.
As for prison, he's already been there. Again, visiting prison when you're active and fighting and winning... What's going to happen when the limelight is off etc.
I was being more flippant than prophetic but from his, and other boxers, past history neither would be a surprise.

Not a chance any member of the 'general public' is getting a ticket. They have already sold out without even making it to the general sales market. Cheapest quoted price is $5000 and expect that to quadruple on the touting market. Factor in the fact hotel prices in the Vegas will almost all triple in price per night and your looking at somewhere in the region of $20,000 + to go see this fight. Nice to see the biggest fight of all time has been made cost measurable for all the boxing fans ey.
Mind, given myself, damien, hampo & few others are all part of the Hearn circle im sure we will have no problem getting us some ringside seats next to Jay Z & Beyonce.....he'll probably throw in the flights and MGM stay for free, just because he's like that...a real man of the people
Re: BREAKING NEWS: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, 2nd May 2015. SIGNED!!
To be honest, for that price I'd expect to be allowed to get a few digs in on Floyd myself!
Dan Rafael said on Twitter he expected tickets to be between $1000 and $5000. Which is a ridiculous price. I'll pay for it on TV (and moan about that!). First time in years I'll have stayed up to watch a Floyd fight though!

Quite unfortunate, but you can understand it. Money made from Tickets will probably be a drop in the ocean overall, but they obviously also want this to be the highest grossing gate of all time, which makes sense, when you consider the egos involved. Arum wanted to make it at the Cowboys stadium, which would have achieved this as well, and given the proletariat population a chance of decent priced nosebleeds, but there you go. This is short on extortion, but you charge what you think you're worth, and if they pay, you were right. This will probably be the biggest one off sporting event on history financially (unless it's a FOTC, and demands an immediate rematch), so they might as well get all the marbles in one go.

not overly excited, reality is, both fighters, especially manny have deteriorated. fight should of happened three years ago but mayweather was frightenend, he's only agreed because he knows manny isnt the same anymore & can just win this on points. dont see the big excitement, what are people posting they cant sleep because of this announcement, what embarrassments. will be overhyped & a poor fight that mayweather usually puts on

If you don't see the excitment Liam, then I don't know what will excite you in boxing.
Taking out the years anticipation and the P4P angle, it's the two top ranked fighters in the division fighting each other. Are we getting that in many other divisions right now?
Kovalev fighting Stevenson?
GGG fighting Cotto?
Rigo, Frampton, LSC or Quigg fighting each other?
Nothing embarrassing about optimism.

Honeyghan carried the first round against Starling, it was only after round third that Starling started to dismantle him.
I am expecting Pacquaio to be ahead at the halfway stage, by four or five rounds, only for Floyd to take over in the latter half of the fight, and end up somewhere around seven rounds to five or eight to four.
In my heart I am hoping Pacquaio to simply overwhelms Floyd, with the ref having to save him as slumps against the ropes having taken a proper battering , a la honeyghan v Curry.

I gave Honey the 3rd just............Starling bossed that fight from the start..........Beautiful performance........All Honey's work was meaningless amateur stuff.............Apart from a hayemaker in the 3rd that stunned the Magic Man temporarily.........
It was a one sided slap..............Let's not try to reinvent history...
Man vs Boy..
