RIP Ron Moody
Anyone who who remembers the 1967 musical adaptation of Oliver Twist will be sad to hear that the actor who stole the show in that particular movie playing the part of old crook Fagin Ron Moody has passed away in hospital at the age of 91.
Always loved the movie since my school days and can remember Fagin singing ''You have to pick a pocket or 2'' very fondly. The family of Mr Moody said he was singing till the end.

I was shocked that it wasn't even announced on the BBC...it was all Christopher Lee.
That performance in Oliver is one of THE great performances.

Re: RIP Ron Moody
Belatedly came across this thread. Ron Moody was highly talented and, as posted above, his passing certainly deserved far more attention.
His performance as Fagin was superb. He beat off opposition for the part from many contenders including, somewhat bizarrely, Sid James and Bruce Forsyth.
