Hull august 1st bill
Its been announced that the Campbell-Coyle fight will be an eliminator for the WBC Lightweight belt.
On the undercard is a rematch between Brian Rose and Carson Jones.
Ricky Burns will also be on the bill as well as Martin J Ward.
I can see a Burns-Campbell fight being setup should they both win on this bill.
Good bill or not?

So the winner will face Jorge Linares?! That's unreal. I'd fear for Coyles health if he beat Campbell.

A win over Coyle is enough to make you mandatory for the WBC slot................????
Boxing's gone mad..
Could be worse I guess.. Rose v Jones could be an eliminator...................Two clubfighters in a meaningless fight..

Last night a draw with Lee Markham was enough to get you a title shot. Beating Coyle is progress from that!

Haha good points gents. I'm in full agreement. They somehow shoot over the world ranked fighters. Strange one.
Campbell is too green in my eyes. Needs a test. Coyle wont give him that although I'm sure Mitchell would. Burns would maybe take him the distance and give him rounds and experience.
But skip them and fight Linares?! Nuts indeed.

Its not a final eliminator so the winner won't get Linares

It’s alright*. If Burns and Ward are matched in decent fights it might get an upgrade from me to ‘quite good!’
NB: * = As long as some idiot doesn’t have the nerve to even murmur the term ‘Pay Per View’ within a million miles of it.

Campbell beats Coyle quite easily I would have thought. Not ready for a title shot though. Not that it matters but he doesn't seem like the nice lad that he was built up to be.
In other news, I hope Carson Jones wins and steps back down for a third fight with Brook. PPV, unfinished business, sells itself really.

Don't see that as much of an issue really (provided he isn't actually seriously unplesant or a criminal etc), like a bit of spite in a boxer - it's the only time AJ is interesting, when he's got someone on the ropes and the blood-lust takes over.
