Very similar to the ODI side.
I'll be sad to see the Kiwi's go. They have played some cracking Cricket, and in the right manner.

Agreed, and it has led to us being less obnoxious in the field.
Sadly that will all change with the Aussies arriving. we will be back to both sides snarling, posturing and frankly behaving like kumquats.

Re: England vs New Zealand - T20 thread
So it's yesterday's ODI side (and presumably the side that will play on Saturday) with the addition of Vince and Topley to the squad.
With the way both sides have batted in the 50 over matches, this should be a run-fest. Of course that means we will bat first, be all out for 130 and NZ will limp over the line 8 down in the last over...

Re: England vs New Zealand - T20 thread
Not any great shock really is it. They picked the T20 side for the ODIs, and theyve played some great T20 cricket...for 50 overs.
Assuming the final ODI goes as per the last 4 ....I guess the only question is will they look to swap Billings out for an extra proper bowler trusting the top order to be able to bat at an express rate without shipping too many wickets or will they maybe shuffle the order around (game situation) and let Billings have a proper innings. Most likely he will continue to hang around watching everyone else play cricket.
Id assume Roy will get another chance even if he fails to make a defining innings again in the last ODI.

Disappointed for Vince. We could have done with our best batsman vs Somerset these last 3 days

Pretty much nailed on that Joe Root will be England's leading run scorer in all formats when he's done

Re: England vs New Zealand - T20 thread
good knock from Root, and useful cameos from Billings and Stokes. Shame about Roy who was looking good until Hales did for him. It's not the best batting pitch, a bit on the slow side, so 191 feels defendable, but England will have to bowl well.

Dilly will be glad that next time he plays in the same game as Williamson they will be in the same team.
Rashid has dismissed him just once, first game, conceding 140 runs at 9rpo. Against the other Kiwi batsmen he has gone at 5.8rpo and averaged 26 per wicket.

Re: England vs New Zealand - T20 thread
Decent win in a pretty meaningless one-off game. Way too much hype after a narrow ODI series win and this about how England are suddenly world-beaters. Its better limited overs cricket than the utter rubbish we saw in the World Cup for sure, but it is just a start and also has no relevance to The Ashes.
On The Ashes, pundits seem to be linking the positive/aggressive approach to how we will play in those Tests. I am not convinced, and they must have very short memories to not remember Cook, Ballance and co scoring at a snails pace in the last Test against a really poor spinner in particular just before that first innings collapse that cost the game.
