No idea, 114-112 was a laughable score.

So because two of the British refs are poor, you can't complain about her?

Re: Adalaide Byrd - how?
I have seen worse scores, I had it a lot closer than Watt and Halling, some of the close rounds they gave to Porter I thought Broner deserved as he landed the quality shots, probably not enough to only have two rounds in it, but not a card that I'm outraged by.

Just going to ignore the question then? No problem with criticising judges Truss, but don't come out with Love sacks that you can't moan about one because there's another bad one round the corner. By your logic, you can't complain about IJL or Foster because of Byrd.

Pick on some of the male judges..
It wasn't the greatest scorecard but I've seen worse..
If one of your "mates" had the same score you'd be saying its a tough job and you know it !!
If she wasn't a chick she wouldn't be taking as much crap.

Non of my mates are judges Truss, the fact is she's been coming out with garbage cards for a bloody long time and will get stick as a result.

You stuck up for IJL over Rose-Jones.....
Awful awful stoppage..and you knew it...
Start complaining about your mates when it's justified...
Not just picking on Johnny Foreigner..

Re: Adalaide Byrd - how?
I haven't complained about Byrd on this card have I? Please point out where I have said this card was bad.
I said the referees do a hard job, are you disagreeing with that or do you really think that's an easy job? As I said Truss, if you're going to use the logic that you can't complain about her because of two other bad judges, then the same works vice versa.

Plenty of male judges get complained about on here, you haven't been reading carefully enough if you think they don't.

I was more outraged with the referees display , I've seen fighters thrown out for less than Broners holding. Tony Weeks could've nipped it in the bud early took a point and we have seen a better fight. Weeks was nothing short of abysmal at least Byrd got the right winner.
But we should all be celebrating that piece of trash Broner got beat.
Cheers , rodders

Re: Adalaide Byrd - how?
Why does she get a pass due to being fmale Truss? if any judges card is bad then they rightly deserve to be called out on it. Pretty weak arguement there even by your standards.
Judges need to be consistant in these big fights. In her eyes if Broner had of won another round she would have had it a draw which would have been as bad a CJ Ross' Canelo/Floyd card.
That fight was in no way close. Broner was lucky to get 2 rounds in that fight and even counting the knockdown he still lost the round because he did nothing at all to follow it up and Porter went straight back to his attack.
Pity really for Broner as his "Band Camp" crew seem to be blowing so much smoke up his rear end his focus has been shifted from the sport.

And you'll just pull that 'insult' out whenever I disagree. It's just annoying to see someone trying to claim the high ground by saying it's racist/misogynistic/homophobic etc to try and make their argument seem better when no-ones mentioned it other than said person trying (and failing) to claim a higher ground.
Get a grip

Re: Adalaide Byrd - how?
Byrd at least got the right winner, so as Rowley says by default you can’t put it amongst the most horrendous of cards. But I think it’s still a concern that an experienced judge can watch that fight and see a close contest in any way, regardless of whether or not there were two, maybe three rounds which were open to debate.
From what I’ve seen, just about every single observer had that fight to Porter by anywhere between five (at the very, very least) and ten points. Such an overwhelming majority can’t be wrong in that case, I’d say. The fact that Byrd saw a fight like that as a close one leaves the worrying impression that she could see fight that one guy won clearly without it being a runaway job in favour of the other guy.
Personally, I’d have a hard time giving Broner more than two rounds, maybe another one of them shared 10-10 if I was being charitable. If someone said that they’d only given him the twelfth in the whole fight, I wouldn’t think it was an unreasonable score.

Re: Adalaide Byrd - how?
I thought some of the earlier rounds were close enough you could make a case for broner... porter getting them on work rate really without actually landing much. But generally it was broner's 1 eye-catching counter per round against porter's hustling.
Neither fighter impressed me, but porter had the excuse of broner holding and spoiling the whole fight.
Disappointing fight.

I didn't score it, but from memory I thought you could make an argument for Broner in the second and sixth, just on the cleaner work. However I would not rule out of the possibility of my ingrained desire to assume Halling is incorrect in everything he says clouding my judgement.

I could not have too many issues with anyone who had it for Porter, the margain is open to interpretation as a lot of the rounds were pretty scruffy affairs. Think you'd have to be generous to Broner to have it less than four or five.

I was teasing fella. They had smith/mccrory commentating on the fight I watched! Saved the dream team for smith ward.
Incidentally, I thought the Robinson, macklin, brook trio did a decent job in the studio.

Re: Adalaide Byrd - how?
One also needs to ask Broner exactly WHAT help he thinks he got from Mayweather in the run up to this fight. The only think I saw was the patented "stick your chin in the air and flair your nostrils" look so favoured by Mr Money. Outside of that, I think a couple a brain damaged spider monkeys would have been more use to Broner.
Being allowed to shove $100 bills into the vaginas of hookers on a night out with the cretin doesn't mean Floyd "has your back" Mr Broner

Shows how much attention I pay to the Sky commentary! I always enjoy Macklin on commentary, he is definitely a good addition.

Re: Adalaide Byrd - how?
Agreed chris. Since broner moved up he seems clueless how to deal with bigger guys. The kicking of Paulie, the clowing of Maidana and the spoiling of porter. In his lighter days he didnt resort to that nonsense.
For me he is snookered now. He obviously isnt able to make his way down to those lighter weights so he is going to struggle at light welter/ welter and the judges are going to get turned off by his nonsense tactics. I reckon its too late for him now. The damage is done mentally. Pity because he was a real talent when he hit the top level at sfw and maybe should have hung around lightweight were he cud have possibly ruled. But his ego made him jump to welter wer it is probably the most talented division. He just wasnt prepared.
Anyway, hes made his bed and has to now lie in it. Id pick any top 10 welter to beat him at this point.
