a quick win by Gasquet against fellow countryman De Schepper: 6-0 6-3 6-3
Next round against Dimitrov most likely, it might be interesting - and lately Reechard is the in form player of the two.

And to put some tension on the #1 game: Niemenen broke Djoko on the first game of the match. 2-0 for Jarko

And more news: Nishikori out injured. Easier big 4 draw opening up more

Djoko through. Lovely tribute from him to Jarkko in his last Wimbledon.

After the first two sets it looked like Raonic might embarrass Haas, but then Haas takes the third set (and he was looking the better player at the tail end of it when I was watching). That is almost embarrassing to Raonic - with Haas's age and lack of recent play.

Stan has Raonic.

That section of the draw with Raonic is quite packed - Raonic, Kyrgios, Gasquet and Dimitrov are playing the next two rounds for one spot in the QF.

Djokovic Wawrinka looks intriguing on grass. Djokovic would need to serve better than he's currently hammering them down though. Djokovic-Cilic is also intriguing if Cilic decides to come down from that cloud he is seemingly stuck in (maybe his mom hasn't woken him up yet?). Overall, I'd say Djokovic's half is rather difficult, with only Gasquet who you'd think can't possibly trouble him.

Can see your point sb, although not sure it's fair to call it 'embarrassing'

Sure, Haas is ancient and is only just 'coming back' after yet another injury ; but he is still a smart campaigner with huge experience over many years, and has enough to be competitive in short spells.

It's no surprise that at least one set in any Raonic match will go to a TB - and then it's a bit of a lottery of course. There were two in this one, and they were split. But the other sets were dominated by Raonic.

It is not even a quarter - just 1/8th section of the draw. And it has two semifinalists from last year, plus Kyrgios, and Gasquet is not half bad either. If they had not all been playing each other, some of the other big guys could have had harder draws.

Cilic through in five sets against Berankis. The Lithuanian really scared the big Croat.

Gutted for the wee man. Big talent imo. Just doesn't have that consistency but at 5'9 and with such a high risk game (v low net clearance and lots of dtl shots), it doesn't help much either. Hope this acts as a springboard and not another barren run.

Berankis had his chances with plenty of break points but fantastic clutch serving and just failing to win many of the massive points cost him. It was so close though and nobody could have said he didn't deserve it had he won.

I've rarely seen a look of such dejection as on the face of poor Berankis when the end came. That final point with the DF on hawkeye was especially painful, though he may not have been able to rescue things even if it had gone in his favour.

So Nisihikori's out.

Can Djokovic's draw get any easier?

Stan up till this W had a 50% winning record on grass. That's appalling. He does't have enough time on grass to wind up the big shots. If it comes to a djokovic semi I expect it to be relatively straight forward for Djokovic.
