Ryan Harris Retires from Test Cricket
Well that's sad.....but well played Harris in the 27 tests fate gave him.....at one of the best strike rate and bowling average combos seen in in modern game over no less than 113 test wickets.
Mat Inns Balls Runs Wkts BBI BBM Ave Econ SR 4w 5w 10
Tests 27 52 5736 2658 113 7/117 9/106 23.52 2.78 50.7 4 5 0
a case study in "mind over matter".....mental strength over physical pain as exemplified in that test against SA where he ran on a "shattered knee"
as he said " he always knew that there were only a finite number of balls left in him" and that quota finished now.

Thought he was a cracking bowler and a gentleman...not your usual irritating Aussie cricketer...
23.00 average is up there with the best though probably lacks the longevity to be considered one of them..
Wish him luck...

A top, top class bowler. Unfortunately had a very uncooperating body, but he was a man of strength, really really toughed it out as much as he could, to the very last.
A very likable character too. Wishing him all the very best in the post retirement life.

Shane Bond and Ryan Harris, 2 of my favorite bowlers, potential greats, cut short by injuries.
After Bond and Andrew Flintoff, Harris now giving into his injury prone body.

With this retirement becomes a member of cricket's (not particularly) famous 27 Test Club. Joins Barnes, Croft and Afridi. Without bothering to research it, I assume that's as good an attack as you can make from players who retired on the same number of tesyd

I'd be lying if I said, I didn't throw in "without bothering to research" as bait to see if you would LT. , some good attacks there. Would rate the 27 Test Club above those, if I could have found one decent spinner. Of the two, it's incredibly difficult to call... at a push I'd say the 67 Test attack
