The v2 wrestling podcast - TNA talent and how to solve a problem like Cesaro
http://v2wrestling.com/5/post/2015/07/the-v2-wrestling-podcast-tna-talent-and-how-to-solve-a-problem-like-cesaro.html
This week, Adam, Ethan and Chris talk about the current talent exodus at TNA as well as the potential for cross promoting with GFW and ROH in the future.
Could you see a NWA belt defended between the 3 companies a viable possibility?
We then move on to WWE where the evolution of Cesaro is discussed in length. Why is he not connecting as a character and what would you do to solve the problem?

I think the KotM is already that title. I think they see in this potentially the advantage that as a multi-man tournament you can have more than 2 brands involved in a given match. For example you could have 2 from TNA, 2 from GFW and 2 from ANO. That may also give the advantage that the 2 GFWs could be working together, but wrestler 1 turns on wrestler 2 and takes the belt to TNA, etc.

Cesaro: Chris made some really salient points. I think he is worth WWE persevering with because he is a talent that can really elevate people. He can make an opponent look a million dollars in the ring and WWE really need to get these stepping stones in place that makes an elevation to the main event more of a progression and thus there is less backlash from the fans.
On the one hand, it should be really, really easy. Daniel Bryan got over on a chant of "Yes". Even Ryback's "feed me more" is something that fans can engage with.
I personally think the first problem is his audio accompaniment to the ring. Which comes off as less of a siren warning that a dangerous man is coming to the ring, and more of an alert to clear the building immediately!
Maybe its the moviephile in me. But when Heyman managed him, I really wanted him to do a Harry Lime speech.
"“You know what the fellow said – in Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace – and what did that produce? CE-SAR-OH.”
Personally I'd do a play on his Cesar name. I'd have him do a Roman thumbs down before his finishing move (which I'm sure Barrett and maybe others have done, but who cares) and get some crowd chant with that going. Definitely, less is more on the microphone for him.

BTW I forgot that at the top of the podcast there was mention of Paige's Twitter 'fight' with Eva Marie. Which in all likelihood is a Total Divas related thing.
But, I'm sure I saw somewhere recently that Paige had another tiff with Ricochet over his flippy flippy style of wrestling.
Since when was Paige a wrestler who puts on more than 2* matches?

Good show guys,
TNA- I think having a NWA type scenario with the title isn't a bad idea. It worked for years with the territories and what is old is new
Cesaro- I think if you have him as a wrestling machine, don't have him talking much he can get over. Andre the giant wasn't a great talker or wrestler but got over amazingly. Maybe have Cesaro become the new Benoit (without the murder suicide)

He's not as tall as Andre or as intense as Benoit. I agree with Chris that in an age of 3 hour Raw's the ability to use the microphone is a necessity to becoming a major character.

Im sorry I don't agree, If you book him properly he can get over, doesn't have to be a great talker. I wouldn't say Daniel Bryan is a good talker.
With Cesaro you can give him a mouthpiece , "dare I say manager", I know they tried with Zeb Colter but as said on the podcast was a weird fit under the real Americans. They tried Paul Heyman but did they really try with Heyman? If they had it may have gone over better.
If you are going to start to build him, have him as an ass kicking wrestling machine and give him a mouth piece, Id maybe look at someone like a Jim Cornette, someone who everyone is gonna hate, keeps talking but you have Cesaro backing up the words with his actions

I think Lana going to Ziggler was a mistake, she could have been Cesaro's mouthpiece quite easily and a Cesaro Rusev feud could be excellent.
