Santa Cruz vs Mares
Surprised this has gone unnoticed, date set for August 29th.
Not sure who'll screen it over here, but a step up from Santa Cruz's recent opponents.

Re: Santa Cruz vs Mares
PBC haven't quite got their matchmaking right. They either have a bum of the month routine... Or they match their cash cows a little too hard. Haven't quite gotten that, "Live opponent, but secretly finished" thing down yet. Guerrero being sacrificed for Thurman a possible exception. Much like, Broner and Chavez, I suspect LSC's first test on PBC ends with a Audrey Harrison quote, "Back to the drawing board"

When i watch the PBC shows i always feel a bit flat id like a bit more chaos in the ring at least before and after fights

Re: Santa Cruz vs Mares
Good fight this and an exciting one to boot. Think Mares has this though, I like LSC but he hasn't progressed like I thought he would. He is a great volume puncher granted, but he's not exactly explosive and doesn't seem to have gears, find him a bit tedious at times
Mares isn't a big puncher either, but has more dimensions to his game I think and won't be intimidated by what LSC has to throw at him and will relish someone meeting him head on
Mares UD or SD

Good to see Santa Cruz in a real fight, this is a real test for him.
Russell jr wants the winner, that could be a bad matchup for Leo style-wise. But an exciting few fights on the horizon for the featherweight division hopefully.

I like Santa Cruz in this one. Slightly bigger, fresher, less battle-worn (I really rate Mares, though).
Hopefully Frampton can get the winner (being aligned to PBC and all).

Re: Santa Cruz vs Mares
Who knows, maybe Santa Cruz won't fancy Russell jr and will opt to go back down to fight Frampton or Quigg or Donaire. Either way hopefully we're finally going to see some action in and around super-bantam and feather.
Donaire should liven things up as he has a track record of going after the best, win or lose.

Dont think Mares has too much left in the tank. Should be good timing for Santa
