The Open Competition - Final Leaderboard

Unlike the events at St Andrews this competition produced a clear winner. lorus59 managed to escape the rest of the field on the final day with Oosthuizen, Spieth and Day. lorus59 finished a clear three shots ahead of raycastleunited who had Garcia on -11 instead of Day on -14. Redrage who had been top of the leaderboard for most of the weekend had to settle for joint third along with owen10ozzy, CJB and ralphjohn69. My chances of major success unfortunately disappeared with Padraig Harrington's final round.

Well, I am speechless. I feel humbled, honoured and proud to win my first major and to do it at St. Andrews makes it even more special. It was not an easy week with all the weather delays but sportform had the forum thread looking in pristine condition despite it all, so hats off to him and his team. As usual the competition was fierce from all the knowledgeable regulars so I had my work cut out to stay ahead of them. I resisted looking at the leader board until the very end. Some say that I may have picked a team of ringers but I also had Tiger Woods as a pick.
I want to thank my keyboard and my monitor. Without you guys this would never have been possible. Finally, they say the likes of Monty, Westwood and Garcia are best golfers to have never won a major, I can categorically state that I am the worst golfer to have won this major.
