Another poor fight for Adonis
WBC Light Heavyweight champion has announced his next fight is to be on September 11th against Tommy Karpency.
Another poor fight for Stevenson, i wonder when he is going to take on an actual tough fight again.

I don't see him taking on anyone difficult until he is really over the hill and cashes out

I blame the Canadians.
The Canadians know the square root of JACK about boxing and should force this clown to step up.

Re: Another poor fight for Adonis
This is the problem with Haymon fighters. They are paid ridiculously well for mediocre assignments - meaning they no longer need to fight often or even challenge themselves. Jimmy Tobin put it brilliantly this week:
"It is a good thing then, that in a sport that recently paid men nine figures to land less than ten punches a round, there are fighters like Sergey Kovalev, who broke Nadjib Mohammedi in three rounds at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, on Saturday night. In an era that sips “shampaign” while blathering on about brands and business (non)sense, an era that will be remembered for the LIE of TBE, the apotheosis of self-preservation on the bloodiest, most dramatic proving ground in sports, at least there is Kovalev and those of his ilk: men who do their worst in an effort to be best."
Andre Ward was just paid over $2m for a glorified sparring match against Paul Smith (by RocNation). If you're the fighter - why wouldn't you just face a succession of Smiths?

zzzzzzzz
Not surprised, didn't Cleverly beat this guy easily?
He has beaten Chad Dawson, but that wasn't the Chad Dawson of a few years ago, also if memory serves, Dawson was unlucky
If I was Adonis, I would be running from Kovalev as well

Whilst I wouldn't argue with the sentiment, the argument isn't best served by the fact that Mohammedi is from the same tier of opponent as karpency.

It's not our fault that duck is such a popular dish in the U.S. Of A Trussmeister.

Re: Another poor fight for Adonis
This fight is a waste of time. Karpency has never been the same since the one sided beating Cleverly gave him
Adonis needs to stop ducking Kovalev and prove that he is a real Canadian champion, not some over rated bum like Bute who could be beaten by any average fighter

Wasn't this the male nurse Cleverly got slated for years ago? What the hell is he doing? Surely there are better fights out there for him than this one!

Re: Another poor fight for Adonis
I think we are letting the alphabet boys off the hook.
If they were to put top fighters as mandatory and only allow one voluntary....Then they wouldn't get away with it..
Mayweather, Manny,JMM types may not need a title to bargain with...
But Brook, Stevo and Wilder do..
