Cowshot here.
Hello folks. Looking for a new posting home and saw a few names I recognised so thought I'd pop in. Rugby and Cricket are my main areas of interest. See you around.

Welcome aboard, Cowshot.
Hope you enjoy the forum. Love the user name, by the way. That one should provoke a typo or two.

Hello hobo. Nice place you have here. Very easy on the eye.
And hello HumanWindmill. Is your name a reference to your refereeing style, btw?
chuckle. Haven't found an issue with my "name" being typo'd. It's happened once or twice, but merely tells me the person doing it is a plonker (always useful). Unless, of course, it really is a typo!

Ha !
Nice comeback, mate.
I'll definitely be careful not to make the typo ! ' HumanWindmill ' was the nickname of the great middleweight boxer from the twenties, Harry Greb. Come to think of it, though, your take on it is a bit more colourful and interesting.
Good to have you on board.

Ah. Enjoy a bit of boxing, but don't really follow it as such. Can read a fight reasonably well as a result of fencing when I was younger (sabre). Actually - don't know if you follow Rugby Union - I was thinking of Chris White, who has an interesting range of signals all his own.

Don't follow Union, Cowshot, though I played a bit as a lad. You've sufficiently aroused my interest to go check youtube in an effort to find Mr White, though.

Re: Cowshot here.
I'm not sure it's a widely observed phenomenon. Other than amongst my bunch of mates as the beer goes down. My personal favourite is "I'm a Penguin" as the game dissolves into chaos around him.

Haven't had any joy in locating him at youtube, yet, but will persevere. Have a soft spot for big characters with eccentricities.

I thought the draw was certain, unbelievable by England.
I would prefer Dernbach but Finns next in line so England will go with him.

Re: Cowshot here.
Finn did well against the Aussies, so he deserves his chance here, especially on home turf. I think the stability the policy of continuity brings is good for the development of the side in general - it means when Jadeyboy (Jade????) does get his chance, he'll know it's real. It IS wonderful we seem to have a real depth of talent at present!

Re: Cowshot here.
The reason I would have Dernbach is that playing Finn we would then have 3 tall seamers who all ball in the same way.
Dernbach could get his chance in the 3rd test if England win the next.
