Wow. I can totally relate to that. Know how the guy feels when your at the top of your own game personally and for some unknown reason and without foresight, pow it hits you.

I really wish him well and for the future and that he finds the right balance. Kudos to him for being so open about it.

A salutary lesson about the dangers of uncontrolled aspiration. Tough.

'Tough' as in 'It must be tough' or 'tough' as in 'hard cheese'?

Out of personal tragedy,
a bigger picture is painted,
a larger human context is seen,
and then things fall in place, like a jigsaw

An identity crisis
leads to a larger group identity,
there must be others
who may be suffering similarly.

Can I help? I had a Tennis career in the past,
but let me tread on this path
for my fellow humans
and fit it in the bigger sea of humanity!

The seeds of greatness are sown
The inner voice calls my fellows me own
Let me help those who suffer
emollient of my own experiences to offer

thanks for that article.

that is very interesting. I saw Mardy Fish play once at the 2004 Olympics on an outside court at very close range. He looked very tightly wound and was admonishing himself, and this in the first set of the first round. Bjorkman retired after the first round. I never would have guessed that Fish would get the silver medal. And 2-1 up in the final as well against a player that had played a long doubles final the day before (Massu).

Interesting insights in the article. Wishing him best of luck.
