RWC 2015 - Well done Mate Thread
Only one team can go through the tournament unbeaten. At least 95% of the sides will lose a match. We all moan when our team loses (in fact we moan about refs when they win). Well in that case go bugger off to another thread.
It is very rare for the team that was better on the day not to win. so lets see if we can be magnaimous just once in a while. When your team loses, and you have recovered a little composure, come here and say "Well done lads" to the opposing team and fans.
Will be interesting to see who the best losers are (and the most gracious winners)

I think I will get it out of the way now.
If you have beaten the Springboks, well done.
If you haven't commiserations.
If you are Bryce Lawrence or Romain Poite F...off.
Thanks.

Fxxxing Uruguayan's - Tier 6 my arse - I could see that coming a mile off it was always going to be a banana skin. Ref was shoite, probably trained by Rollaind and Walsh and when they weren't living offside they were just taking us out off the ball - Anyways, that aside I wish you well in your next 3 games.

I love the idea of this thread, but I expect a lot of passive agresive stuff from a certain few on the troll...

Hmmm............................ hello???? Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Strange how this place never took off. It sounded so promising.
Oh well.... I'll close the door softly behind me and wait for the wrecking ball to come through the window.

Can I just add a "well done mate" to the Romanian fans last night at the Olympic stadium, great bunch and their reaction to the "consolation" try at the end was like they'd won !

We've all been there (or most of us) at some point in our histories. That's why it is so pleasing to see underdogs pleased, even with a heavy defeat.... it drags us back to our own olde and not so olde days when a moral victory was signed off with a late consolation try.

Re: RWC 2015 - Well done Mate Thread
Not that it shows anything important but it's worth noting that (assuming Namibia don't do it tonight!), the only teams to secure a bonus point win in their first match were the 4 "home nations" - Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland.
So I'd like to say well done and congratulations to the other home nations on that.
Remember it's not just about the destination (only one team can finish the tournament smiling!) but the journey, and the journey has been pretty damn enjoyable so far - particularly for the home nations. Cheers!

I enjoyed the high fives when they won that early scrum. I hope Namibia have some similar little moments against NZ tonight.

I did not want to have to do this do this.
On 70 minutes I did not expect to have to do this.
However I do.
Well done Wales.

Well done Wales. On the bus back from Twickenham. Gutted. We were better at the scrum, at least as good at the line out- but you had the moment of magic needed.
Well played.

Re: RWC 2015 - Well done Mate Thread
Well a great boxing match it was. Pity about the injuries. It lived up to the billing and bubbled up into an eventful second half and firey end.
Congratulations to both sides for the entertainment value...to Wales for the great win under such pressure of injuries. Fidgetty Biggar did the biz. I actually think that long range kick of his was the winning factor more than that try or that lineout push-over.
England, for me, and for some reason, simply seemed to tighten up in all areas in that second part of the second half. Tension just seemed to overcome them, which I suppose shows you how very important these WC games become on an emotional level. It doesn't matter really how much you do on the technicalities - so much of it in the end comes down to who best can handle the tons of emotion that floods through each player.

Fly I haven't had a drink for 4 days and you will not believe where I was from 7 30 till 10.30 last night which perhaps is even more worrying. In essence I didn't watch the game

Re: RWC 2015 - Well done Mate Thread
I promised an old Cornish mate that I'd help him with his local charity 12 months ago. Last night between those hours I was in a Methodist Church listening to 3 choirs. I'm not religious but I couldn't let Jimmy down. He was surprised I made it but sometimes there are more important things. I came home and watched it twice before going to bed at 2.30. This morning I'm training an English under 16s team!!!!

Always knew your heart was in the right place, Ruby Nice story.
Of course, it also allowed you to escape the stress of watching the game real time... (which I have to admit I've done on the odd occasion for games I was really nervous about) Safer to wash the car and tune in two or three times by radio.....

Ditto - the roar when Namibia got their try was amazing and great fans too !
BTW - quite surprised by the number of English accented people in AB's shirts at the game, one Kiwi visitor even remarked that he's not seen this many black shirts at a game in Auckland.

This is pretty cool from Steve Hansen. He sent Meyer a txt message of support after the loss to Japan. That's pretty compassionate given it's a RWC. I like that.
