Was a decent enough episode of RAW, but definitly started to drag on. The third hour is really a killer.

I almost choked when Xavier Woods started playing Rusevs theme on the trombone. New Day are excellent, and I never thought I'd be saying that 3 months ago.

I said years ago that I'd like to see Kane have a split personality type of character where the out of Mask Kane has no recollection of anything the in Mask Kane does, not so sure I'm that fussed about it now but if done right it could be an interesting storyline, just unsure how it'll actually do in practice, at the time I felt it'd be a good second or third stoey behind the Main Event, not thee main event

When Paige says "We all know how the Bella's got where they are", well I'm thinking no one is going to boo that.

The best heels are ones who say stuff that have truth behind it and we all know it, we're just supposed to think she went the wrong way about it I guess.

It was a would be Pipe Bomb, she was putting everyone in their place, not sure it came off the way it should have, I'd not feel any desire to boo her

I can get that argument when its agaisnt Becky, Charlotte and Natalya, but like P said, no one was ever going to boo what she said about the Bellas because they're pretty much universally reviled. The same can be said about Summer Rae, Lana not so much but it'll get a cheer anyway because the story shes in is pants.

I think the 'Paigebomb' hit the nail on the head about alot of things, I only wish she would have been allowed to call out Steph McMahon for taking credit for it all aswell.

I thought Raw was pretty boring tbh

No mention at all of Underraker vs Lesnar?!

Looking like Kane vs Seth Rollins for the title.

Orton to join reigns and Ambrose. Suspect the Jericho and Ambrose feud will pick up later down the line. Could start up again at the royal rumble.

Paige's promo was the best part of the night.

The Paige promo was a bit meh, but she delivered it well. It wasnt the promo I'm meh on, really, it was the predictable nature of her getting stroppy so quick. There was probably months of story ruined in one night.

Kane v Rollins was always going to happen. All a bit meh.

Cesaro being fed to Show so Show has some strength going into a Lesnar match was also meh.

I'm watching Raw for Owens, The New Day and, to my surprise, Stardust. This next month feels like it could be really sub-par.

It's stupid to turn Paige heel so quickly, her turn started immediately after Charlotte made Nikki Bella tap at N.O.C - This could easily have been a slow burner, allow a proper relationship to develop so when the time comes to have the actual match (WrestleMania) then we would have been really invested in the storyline, its not like they haven't got enough Diva's for Charlotte (and Paige) to contend with in the meantime.

Easy story, Charlotte is Champ, Paige's nose is put out of joint, Paige tries to get on with it and play her role while slowly feeling more and more pushed to the side, she could even help Charlotte in a few of her Title defences when her opponents have outside back up - all leading to Paige's heel turn based on jealousy and the fact she feels she's being ignored for her rightful Title Shot due to being aligned with the Champion

You've got 6 months of storyline there and with all the new faces in that Division anything Charlotte done in the coming few months was going to be fresh anyway so their was no need to jump into the deepend ASAP

I don't think the teams were working.

The teams I think could have worked if the NXT girls had come up together and stuck together, but it seems that WWE didn't have enough belief in the recognition of NXT to do this.

So IMO they made a real mess of the divas revolution when they started it and big changes needed to be made quickly.

I'll agree that in a different world that slow burn would be a great story. But, if the women's division isn't already dead, I think they needed to do something big and fast.

Credit to them for doing that. Do I think they will make the next steps well enough for that to have been worthwhile? No, but maybe I should give them a chance to see where they go next.

The teams did what it needed to do. Alliances are fine, Nd should be expected in a real division. The obvious route would be to dissolve them to some extent now as the "Revolution" has (once Charlotte retains) done it job.

From there it only needed to become a competitive environment to work. And that includes friends battling with respect. I'd have definitely had team Bella stick together to earn Brie a title shot, and I think Team BAD should have stayed together to use similar tsctics to earn Naomi a shot. The long game being that Paige gets sick and tired of Charlotte's reign and also tired of how everyone else is benefitting. I'd have eventually had her lose a number one contenders fight with Becky and then go on to ruin the title match, turning heel and finally displaying her jealous rage. And I'd have Natty join up with her too, sick of seeing lesser women being given opportunities she deserves and angry at being left out of this revolution. That's given easy chance for Becky n Charlotte v Paige n Natalya at some point. Instead they've blown months of easy yet coherent build all in one night.

Tis the issue with wrestling currently and long evident in the Divas division. There hasn't been a plan beyond the next week for the women for too long.

Post by Kay Fabe Wed 23 Sep 2015, 4:29 pm

I don't think there is a need to worry about the Womans division being dead or alive, in the grand scheme of things it has very little consequence to the show as a whole so I don't think slowing the Paige heel turn down a good bit would have done any damage to the Division.

The very fact the WWE are still actively showing womens Wrestling given the complete lack of interest they've shown in it in the last 7/8 years outwith the odd angle or two suggests that they know that they can do as they please with it.

If something is worth doing then for me ita worth doing right, rushing things to reset doesn't seem realistic or logical but I highly doubt enough people will invest enough time or emotion into to be truly bothered.

WWE Raw Results - Spoilers Ahead Empty Re: WWE Raw Results - Spoilers Ahead

I'll generally agree with that KF.

The only real issue I have is that WWE has shown us they can do it. Some of the NXT women's matches have been great.

The problem is on the transition from a wrestling show to a sports entertainment show (and one that itself has a Total Divas spin-off, which is a pure entertainment show). And then we have to add all these story angles and wow, WWE make it clunky. And not only do they make it clunky but they just go in the wrong direction too. So we have good 10 minute plus women's matches in NXT, what does WWE do? A beat the clock competition!

If we'd not have had the Charlotte / Becky / Banks matches in NXT no-one would really care, but the fact that WWE gave us a glimpse of what is possible and then just fumbles the ball when they try to take that to WWE is what becomes most annoying.

That's the beauty of NXT being Network exclusive isn't it, they don't have to worry about what works and what doesn't work, they can just allow things to go at their own pace and if it works then great, if not then no real loss

And there is also all the time to plan, less content to fill and its far easier to keep things fresh. Sadly, WWE won't pay attention to the lessons they learn from it because the 3 hour Raw is a money maker

I read an article somewhere that basically said they could use the first hour of RAW to show NXT, and move RAW back to two hours. That way it keeps the three hour slot and it will feel less burnt out, and NXT gets a whole new level of exposure. Not sure how I feel about it though, I think it would be too big a jump for NXT too soon.

Not only that but it starts them off without their big name stars, which are ratings draws, and also means something Network exclusive is suddenly open to the public. Its too much of a primetime slot at the moment to show anything but Raw, unless they are happy reevaluating the deal and making the first or third hour cheaper and showing Main Event. Might force them to use Main Event properly too.
