Music Cup Round 9 - War & Peace (PICK 3!!!)
Music Cup 2015 Round 9: War & Peace
The two top dogs show once again that their finger is on the pulse of picking songs that are bland, not obscure/offensive and appeal to the unwashed massive. Compelling & Tino get a big 10 points each and heading into the last two rounds it's a two horse race surely for the title!
Rick_Dagless suffers a Stevie Gerrard style slip up with a miserable 0 points for his Muse choice and has plummeted down to 5th in the overall ranking.
Adam looks to have won the battle of the founders as we both scored a respectable 7 points for Prince and Jay Z, but with 2 weeks remaining he's 6 points ahead of me.
The big surprise this week though is...
GALTED GOT SOME POINTS!!!!
He went more Old School than Bamber Gascoigne and it got him more points than Sean's had hot women (or women in general). He's up to a magnificent 18th place overall now and only 1 point behind Rowley, who'll prevail in the battle of the anti-hipsters?
Next round is... Nobelium & Mendelevium!
Pick 3 songs in which the artist or song refers to a chemical element. Oh and as it's the last round then it's double point bonanza!
Oh and for this round, was it really that hard to pick songs that actually referred to war or peace in the title/artist rather than pick a song about but didn't reference it, we're 9 rounds in now and you're still failing!!

Tough to pick 3 here - Civil War probably deserves a vote because of the intro taken from Cool Hand Luke and Atomic is a great song, but struggling otherwise.

Donita Sparks off of L7 got her minge out on The Word. I'd do her although she could do with tidying IT up a bit.

Re: Music Cup 2015 Round 9: War & Peace
Why is the Louis Armstrong song up there? Because it has the word 'World' in the title i.e. "World War", "World Peace"? That's even more tenuous than usual.

It's a Wonderful World isn't even about war or peace.
Maybe it's because 'Arms' appears in 'Armstrong'.

Interesting that Edwin Starr and Frankie both got in there with 'War' but not Bruce.
Also - no Happy Xmas (War is Over) or Give Peace a Chance. I would've gone for one of those but my pick of No. 9 Dream did very poorly in the last round.

I have zero sympathy, you had an opportunity to crack down on this early in your tenure. It was brought to your attention but you chose to adopt a laissez faire attitude. Those chickens have now come home to roost.

I believe it's down to those that vote to decide if the nomination is worthy of the round rather than myself, democracy rather than dictatorship in the Music Cup.

No point running a competition in which the contestants feel it's a shambles. Not like I take several hours out of my week to run it or anything.

Good work, Hero. You'd let these kids throw in their rancid opinions for too long. Rowley is acting like that annoying child in school who just echoed what the bigger boy said (Jules) whilst sucking up to the bully (ironically Tina in this situation, ludicrous given that he still gets beaten up by kids).
