Cleverly vs Fonfara - SPOILERS Empty Cleverly vs Fonfara - SPOILERS

Post by mobilemaster8 Sat 17 Oct 2015, 9:40 am

Just watched this and it was a quality scrap. Broke records for most punches thrown by both fighters. From round 1 they just went at it. Cleverly lost by a couple of rounds could have gone either way to be honest. Think his nose broke at the midway stage and it kind of went downhill.

Strangely.......he stated Fonfara was just as strong Kovalev?

Anyway great fight highly enjoyable but where does clev go from here??

Is he finished? Back to back losses to Bellew and Fonfara?

Cheers

Excellent fight. Surprised how much bottle Clev showed after his bitter experience against Bellew. Can't agree that it could have gone either way though. Fonfara clear winner I thought. Clev should retire. Has other career paths and hes always taken too many shots.

Stevenson's win over Fonfara gets more gloss I suppose.

I know Pascal is looking for a fight, which would be a fan-friendly fight for the Canadian fans.

Can't fight Jean though as he's waiting on the Kova fight apparently.

Waiting for a fight he knows can't happen...

So no risks while he's 'waiting,' poor man it'll have to be another gimme for a million dollars.

Question is how long can he can continue to command these paydays against gimmes. And is there anything that can be done to rid the game of fighters like Stevenson?

Did anyone catch Bellew's prediction in BN? Talk about nailing it!

Despite the result great to see that Clev had the desire for it. Which has been question so much in recent years.

I can't help but feel the Clev could have won if he'd boxed at range more. Same goes for the Bellew rematch, his outside game is underrated. Just likes a tear up too much

He's wanting a rematch according to the bbc so isn't ready to give up anytime soon.

By the way those stats on punches thrown in the fight are incredible.
