Yes Nige, but the advantage was far too short. A 6 point swing (possibly 13) has resulted because of poor-decision making by him.

The AB's are simply the masters of controlling situations. The Aussies were giving it all and the AB's were on the back foot but they simply just up that gear of composure and control the situation

Excellent from the AB's. Just too clinical in the end.

I think international rugby just got a little bit easier with some of the great retiring today. I'm sure it won't be long for heir replacements to step up though

My favourite RWC final still remains as the 95 final but that was something special. What a game to end RWC2015.
Well done to the AB's and their supporters on here, totally deserved.

Both Dan Carter's drops in the knock outs were off slightly sub par service. Broken play in the semis, and a pass which put him on the the wrong foot in the final. Standing so flat as well. Stunning player.

OK, just watched and the best team won. Absolutely no question.
MOTM should be the docs in NZ for creating that specialised breeding programme which makes the best players. There is something kind of sinister there yet still awesome to watch.

If any team deaserved to win two rugby world cups back too back it is New Zealand.
Well played Australia for coming back in the second half and closing the gap, but New Zealand was just toooooooooooo good when the subs came on.

Greatest rugby team ever, 3 losses in 55 tests. Never see anything like it again, amazing! Really gonna miss DC always my favorite player to watch.
Class interview from Stephen Moore, great player and a very dignified response to the questions. Lynagh too, rather than focusing on blaming someone else like we always do on these shores they just accept the games over 80 minutes and the better team won.
Great match, amazing event.

I don't think there's anything I've missed as much as on field trophy presentations. I hate the corporate box presentations. Feel so... corporate.

Great win. Best team won. Carter won two games in a row for NZ and is deserved player of tournament. Watching it in Kandy sri lanka and was one of the few shouting for aus (who knew Sri Lankans loved New Zealand?!) but after the 75th minute stood and clapped for carter and the ABs. Great win. Makes rugby what it is.

Re: RWC Final: NEW ZEALAND v AUSTRALIA, 31 October
Tournament was a success by any conceivable measure of that term.
There is nothing anyone can do when faced with a complete team like that New Zealand side. Interesting to listen to Jonny Wilkinson talking about what it will take to ever match a side like that.
Agree entirely with the comments about Lynagh and Moore - both are wonderful ambassadors for their country. No NH side could have won that match tonight and we will already all make progress if we just admit that from the outset.

Agreed. My own team ireland would not have been able to last more than 20 mins at that pace. I hope we all take it as a lesson for where standards can be raised. Professionalism is still young. But this AB team is a new level of professional and where we all need to get to over the next 5 years. Of course by than they will be in another galaxy altogether...

Loaded Dog and our other Aussie posters, that was a great battle your team really embraced the tournament and fronted up. A player who has impressed me throughout this tournament is Stephen Moore. this guy is a very special man and an Australian.
Thank You Aussies for making the final the event that it should be.

I couldnt help but think that Dan Carter converting the Beaudie Barrett try with his right foot, was just his way of signing out of Rugby.
