Expect to see most of Glasgows RWC contingent given a run out from the bench just to ease them back in before the European games.

Re: Cardiff Blues v Glasgow Warriors, 7 November
GC, on the pics this week, very retro and witty.
Glasgow must be looking for a 5 pointer here and a chance to see how close to full fitness the likes of Ickle Jonny, Bluto and Dunbar are.
I was very impressed with Shrek yesterday and Oscar Peterson looked "lively".
The Tombola will be watched closely as anyone not in the match day 23 will have very little chance of a weekend in Gay Paree.
p.s. I'm considering driving across and taking young Pipetto for his first visit to the Principality. Any other posters making the trip?

I thought you would appreciate the pictures this week, Jim.
Whom do we think will start this week?
I think that we need to get the Cool Gang together before the Racing 92 fixture, so I would try for as close to full strength as possible. With one eye to who was injured last week, I think that looks like:
15. Stuart Hogg
14. Taqele Naiyaravoro
13. Mark Bennett
12. Peter Horne
11. Tommy Seymour
10. Finn Russell
09. Mike Blair
01. Gordon Reid
02. Pat MacArthur
03. Sila Puafisi
04. Jonny Gray (Il Capitano)
05. Leone Nakarawa
06. Rob Harley
07. Simone Favaro
08. Josh Strauss
16. James Malcolm
17. Alex Allan
18. Zander Fagerson
19. Greg Peterson
20. Ryan Wilson
21. Ali Price
22. Duncan Weir
23. [Sean Lamont/Richie Vernon]

Good side you've proposed there GC. Tighthead and hooker aside, that's a XV that means business and the back row in particular is going to be difficult to handle.
I might be tempted to start Fagerson over Puafisi, and who is James Malcolm? He sounds like a GP.

Well in which case he'd better move to Edinburgh pronto. There's a vacancy in the New Club with his fine name all over it.

Scotland EDP hooker and U20's international. He plays for Ayr, but as I've said many times, nobody's perfect.funnyExiledScot wrote:Good side you've proposed there GC. Tighthead and hooker aside, that's a XV that means business and the back row in particular is going to be difficult to handle.

3. Franks

Re: Cardiff Blues v Glasgow Warriors, 7 November
Heavens to Murgatroyd, Glasgow have got to be confident going into a match with a back-line like that - threats all over the park, just so long as Grayson Perry puts down his fancy vases long enough to bring them into the game.
Finn needs a big one, particularly with Warburton targeting him as he surely must.
Great to see Fozzy starting again as well.
Got to be bold with this one!

Sun's out, big guns are out.
I think only 3 players in that match day 23 for Glasgow are not full cap internationals. This is a hit out for Europe with a full strength side.
Hart really needs to show he is worthy of being in this company.
Bring it, my Welsh brothers.

That is one heck of a side. Most interesting is the bench, said Yoda, in that we have; Bane, Buffy's Mate, Oscar Peterson, Tackle Monster and Batman. Not to mention Junior Bulumaku who will be champing to replace Big T.
There's a huge amount of grunt just waiting to get stuck into tired Welshmen.
Bring it Blues, indeed.

Absolutely correct an you never take the Blues lightly but this is a much better Glasgow side than the one which made an arse out of that season's European campaignRDW_Scotland wrote:The Blues are Glasgow's bogey team though (don't mention Europe, don't mention Europe...)

Looks like there's a fair bit of wind in Cardiff's favour here - Glasgow's kicks not going very far, and a couple of poor clearing attempts from Didier.

Try given - Russell makes the conversion.
Now 17-15 to Cardiff.
Half time.
Glasgow should have wind behind them in 2nd half.

Decent enough first half for Glasgow given the conditions. Big T starting to show us what he is about, I would not fancy tackling him, neither did a few Blues players!

Re: Cardiff Blues v Glasgow Warriors, 7 November
We are a strong second half team so I would expect us to pour it on after the break.
Presumably Junior is on for Seymour so that means we have a Fijian rapier on one wing and a Fijian sledgehammer on the other.

2nd half scrappy too. We scored an early penalty but all Cardiff since - Fish tearing GW to shreds.
Interception from Russell who goes the length but can't quite make it. God knows what happened next but penalty Cardiff.

If only Finn Russell was faster!!! Superb intercept, only beaten by an amazing tackle on the Cardiff 5m line. Glasgow then cough up possession.
Should have been a glasgow try there!
