Edinburgh might broadcast it live via Periscope, but that is camera phone quality!

The radio team are very good : well worth a listen.
Apparently they have made 14 changes since they beat Toulon 2 weeks ago : this should be a comfortable Edinburgh win
Especially given the weather - can't see Grenoble being keen!

Sounds like we're absolutely annihilating their scrums, but doing bigger all with it!

Sounds very much as if Edinburgh have all the ball but still couldn't score in a brothel.
Also seems as if the ref has lost his yellow card.

Finished 28-10. Edinburgh in typical fashion failing to get the BP!

It wasn't really a night for 4 tries but sounds like we had enough set piece dominance and mauling opportunities to get it.
Still, great to get a win finally!

Not overwhelmed but pleased to win comfortably and deny them anything. Looks like Du Preez is back in the groove.

I'm willing to bet that he was actually twice as good as Chris Fusaro.

I went for 16.5 to avoid having to cover a draw so was hoping Tonks would miss the conversion.RDW_Scotland wrote:Des - did you have Grenoble to win with +17??

It's spooky how accurate the bookies can be with the handicaps.
Incidentally, Edinburgh's Challenge Cup run last season was entirely down to me taking a hit on most of the games. If anyone wants to contribute to my "get well" program for Edinburgh I can take paypal payments.
Please note there is close to no chance of a dividend.
As for how Hardie got on, I thought he was OK but not outstanding.
I think Du Preeze will pip him to most MOM awards this season. He's an absolute demon.

Good to hear Du Preez is back to his rampaging best - he had a quiet start to the season.
If only Solomons paired him with Manu!

Agree - not 100% as to what the balance would be like (Manu and Du Preez both best at 8) but their skillsets are beyond those of Coman so it certainly has the most potential as a combination.
Coman isn't a bad player, but for me the optimal combination is Manu, Hardie and Du Preez, with Watson on the bench.

I think the balance is OK with Du Preez at 6.
Maybe he wants to play one or the other in case one gets injured, now that Denton has gone.

Not at all - we have two frontline number 8s so he only wants to play one at a time maybe!

Well with Coman able to play 8 as well as Magnus Bradbury, I hope that isn't the logic. I don't think we should overthink this - just put the best 15 players on the park!

I agree - just trying to second guess why Solomons would choose Mike - leadership - Coman over Nasi - won the Super XV title - Manu

Re: Challenge Cup Pool 5: Edinburgh Rugby v Grenoble, 13 November
I think Du Preez overall skill level is superb. I like him at 8 so he can reliably field kick returns.
Having said that, he dropped one on Friday just as I said "I'm glad Du Preez is under that one rather than Denton" to my friend next to me.
I've to keep my mouth shut from now on.
With regards to Comon, I think we might be guilty of undervaluing or miss representing "leadership". Lot's of rugby players are pretty daft and having a couple of good, astute communicators on the field can be very valuable.
Also, turns out his girlfriend is my eldest daughter's nursery teacher. She is not an unattractive lady and I imagine there are some other "intangibles" to Comon skill set.

So Coman has to keep his place to you can perve on his other half??
My boss' child goes to the same nursery as Al Kellock's child - he finds it quite emasculating standing next to him when they are waiting to pick their kids up.

He should just shout "ruck", and watch Kellock hide behind the door.

I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch the name of the nursery? BabyfES could perhaps use a change of scene.

Nope, definitely not.
I just think there's more to "leadership" than us taking the p*ss out of it.
I went on an action centered leadership course for my old work and fell out with the instructor. I know a lot about bad leadership so know that good leadership must somehow exist.
Also, it is not appropriate to perve in a nursery.

You just moved into Trinity didn't you? It's very handy.
Very good staff and resources but I do not like the owners at all. I'll PM you the name.
