Josh Lewsey gone
I'd quite forgotten he was here (in Wales), doing whatever he was doing.

Re: Josh Lewsey gone
"Welsh Rugby Union Group chief executive Martyn Phillips said Lewsey had brought "dedication, energy and vision" to the role.
"There is no doubt his principal achievement across the past two years has been to drive strategic change and put in place a club hub structure which is already proving successful in introducing a new core of young players into the game," said Phillips.
"Before he steps down from the WRU, he and I will work on the succession planning in order to maintain the momentum he has created for the game in Wales."

I THINK he was in charge of a lot of grassroots development in Wales and making sure the pathways to the semi/professional game were there.
Can we get Lancaster to replace him ?

Re: Josh Lewsey gone
We could do with Lancaster in that role outrselves Munkian.
We need some analysis on why we can produce Junior World Cup winning teams...yet flatter to deceive at the Senior level.
Why does the development not continue correctly.

I do suspect that the development job, initially ear-marked for Lancaster, may well go to Lewsey.

GF,
Is it maybe that the clubs are not trusting in youth and prefer to bring in talent rather than nurture their own? The Regions over the years have had no choice but to trust in youth as they cant (or haven't been able to) afford some of the big names.

That's a very valid point Bedford...
Maybe that leads back to the relegation discussion. If it wasn't there would clubs be more inclined to develop their kids?
I must admit...many of the clubs in England DO play the youngsters...they get a financial reward for it.

I imagined they would as not all teams can afford the marque players and have to rely on youth like the Regions have had to. Maybe its been a case of coaches being to afraid to trust in youth then?
Gatland has never been afraid to chuck a youngsters in at the top level and overall they have worked out and become a regular member of future squads, there have been a few who didn't work out but they are few and far between

In a few cases Gatland throwing in youngsters wasn't brave but more intelligent given tehy qualified for other countries.
