61% possession for Scarlets and yet 3 tries against zero for Racing who only been inside Scarlets 22 3 times... Some poor defending as well.

GC they've previously played fairly well, enough to get them a top 2 position in their domestic league. There was a lot to work on still though, which is quite evident this evening. Racing have their fourth try and that's a wrap.

How many games have Ponty lost now? It appears you're not so good in a semi-pro league without your Blues academy players...

Its ok. I just seen some pictures of the game. Not the best crowd for such a big game. All this considering Llanelli are supposed to be the "region" of West Wales/North Wales/North London/Patagonia/all Welsh speakers etc.mikey_dragon wrote:Steffan wrote:This thread is about Llanelli v Racing Metro. That's surely a concern for them, but when 26 nil is all they can conjour up then supporters won't waste their time/money.

Red card for Le Roux for a stamp. Scarlets might be able to make a slight comeback now, or at least get some points.

Fair - have to say it's a truly shocking result. I expected much better from a team containing a few Wales internationals. If it makes you feel better, a lot more teams in the opening rounds haven't been able to compete with the English and French.

That's a pathetic result from our Scarlets friends, pro 12 teams on life support on this new european competition.
Only Zebre, Edinburgh and somewhat Dragons can held their heads right and thats in the mickey mouse tourney.

I'm sure someone warned us this might happen, and that some changes need to be made if we want to avoid it.

I agree, a change is badly needed. A better deal with Sky straight away would be a start. Then your BI cup proposal looks interesting but hard to imagine it will come to pass for the foreseeable future.

Re: Champions Cup Pool 3: Scarlets v Racing 92, 21 November
The changes needed are already starting, but with the money available in France it will take a really special team to compete in a game where strength in depth is so important.
But on the bright side at least we have a team in West Wales that is still in these games, 2 in fact just 10 mile away from each other. Not so bad after all eh!!!.

Perhaps a single broadcaster, or other countries broadcasters need to up their contributions to this League to make it viable Vince.VinceWLB wrote:I agree, a change is badly needed. Vince why don't you read the Andrew Hore interview on the Ospreys 2016 thread for an insight, in what a forward thinking individual has to say about a B&I League, thanks to Cardiff Dave for posting the link

I see Sky as it is now as a transitional period, starting with only 2 games a week with still free to air other broadcasters but the sooner it gets the exclusive rights the better, the money they are currently paying is basically insignificant.

£5M insignificant, it might be if it is for exclusive rights, it is NOT insignificant in what other broadcasters pay ATM, make it exclusive and it would improve rapidly, will not match either the English or French, but wont leave us so far behind.VinceWLB wrote:I see Sky as it is now as a transitional period, starting with only 2 games a week with still free to air other broadcasters but the sooner it gets the exclusive rights the better, the money they are currently paying is basically insignificant.

Wayne, i have read the interview, at least Wales looks like they are putting their house in order (right when the Irish are crumbling) and yes a BI cup has to be the next step for Northern hemisphere rugby with possibly a second tier between Italian, Romanian and Georgian teams.

Its not really about Ponty for me. That's just the club I support. I wanted regional rugby and I wanted it to be a success. You pair don't want regional rugby or Wales to succeed as a rugby nation. That's the difference. You pair are no more sensible than some of the self serving idiots that support my club. You pair need to look at the bigger pictureChunky Norwich wrote:Bless 'em. I welcome a constructive response that doesn't involve Ponty bashing or bringing up some spelling/grammar error...

Every pro-Welsh team could lose every week for the next 20 years and you would still be happy with the current set up because it suits your Llanelli agenda. I wanted regional rugby and still hope that one day we can have regions and regions that compete with the best in Europe. Llanelli RFC pretend region getting hammered at home is not helping anyoneChunky Norwich wrote:Steffan wrote: You pair don't want regional rugby or Wales to succeed as a rugby nation.
