Unless Bath can rise to the occasion like a well baked cake, I reckon their goose is well and truly cooked.

Maybe they will look to mix things up in their team selection. Possibly they just knead to give others a chance to prove their worth?

Hopefully they don't end up with egg on their face

I can certainly foresee one or two soggy bottoms.BamBam wrote:TheMildlyFranticLlama wrote:LondonTiger wrote:Unless Bath can rise to the occasion like a well baked cake, I reckon their goose is well and truly cooked.

I imagine they'll put all their hens in one basket (Ford) but then if their pack can't front up its all a moo point.

Doubt there will be many crumbs of comfort for Bath at the end of this round.....

So you are saying if Bath fail to rise to the occasion they'll be well beaten?

Bath will win. Or a meringue?*

Re: Champions Cup Pool 5: RC Toulon v Bath Rugby, 10 January
Giteau out for 3 weeks.
Cooper and Nonu have been (to remain polite) average at best and this Toulon tight 5 does not look very threatening as well. First time since the world cup Michalak, is in the squad.
Bath has a good chance (at least on paper as am not sure about their real form!)

Bath's form is shockingly bad. Pretty much just one decent performance all season (away win v Wasps in this comp). Satarted the season reasonably powerful; up front but rusty in the backs, since then the form of both pack and backs has fallen away.

Stade Mayol is such a great place. Loving the pageantry on the stands. Looks like there's a bit of building work going on though.
Playing rugby in the sun in January helps too!

I try not to slate referees but how is this guy still reffing big European games?
Ford seems to be refreshed after a couple of games on the bench. Been exceptional so far.

Good game so far between these two.
6-6 at half time. Clancy reffing very well and quick to cut out any of the niggly handbag stuff.
Ford looking good for Bath and has shown some lovely footwork and passing at times.
Juan Smith a demon at the breakdown for Toulon winning numerous holding on penalties.
Cooper is pants so far.

Clancy is very lenient towards Toulon players in the ruck. He should get the homer of the year award pretty easily.
Not a great show by two teams lacking X factor so far. Bastareaud attempt of a pass comforts me in Noves leaving him out.

Clancy is having a shocker come scrum time. Bath must be furious!

I think I can see why Pro 12 fans really dislike Clancy.

Perplexed by the ref here. Toulon getting away with murder at breakdown and getting smashed in the scrum but winning penalties

Considering the low score, this is a cracking game.

Whatever the result, it is so good to see us back to playing our best stuff. Still think it points to Prem teams working us out though.

One for the rules guru, should Toulon have been allowed to brought back Mikautadze on for Suta at the end considering they still had one unused player (n°18) on the bench?

Clancy is a terrible ref, every ruck Toulon were able to do as they pleased, off feet, hands on deck, not releasing. Clueless

Re: Champions Cup Pool 5: RC Toulon v Bath Rugby, 10 January
Well played Barth shame about the ref he was shocking at the breakdown and missed a few cheap shots, very unlucky to lose, still Ford showed enough to keep his 10 shirt for England
Re: Champions Cup Pool 5: RC Toulon v Bath Rugby, 10 January
Clancy had it all wrong come scrum to.e to. He have at least 3 pens to toloun when they should have gone baths way.

Glad to see some neutrals agreeing with me. Was amazed to see how many times Toulon were off their feet

Ford was very good I thought, Toulon certainly got a "champions" share of the decisions.
Webber too was very good, shame Batty came on really.
