Japanese club final highlights Panasonic vs Toshiba
Panasonic vs Toshiba
It was a close match and here are the highlights, for anyone interested in what club rugby looks like in Japan. English commentary.

That was actually entertaining with an exciting end. Funny to see old faces like Fran Steyn and JB Pietersen. Good crowd as well.
Ps: referring to the other thread , there is a couple of infringements in rolling mauls not flagged by the referee

Excellent - thanks for posting.
Good crowd there too.
Incidentally, I am sure that I was off school for a week with 'Brave Lupus' when I was a kid...

This match had an added resonance in Japan. Toshiba has been a leading rugby club for a long time but, last year saw the company embroiled in a massive accounting scandal.
The company is now heavily in debt, and needs outside finance as well as major restructuring. The rugby team is safe for the moment but might be seen as surplus to requirements in the future.

That was an excellent game to watch. The standard was pretty good, probably close to bottom of the Euro leagues but some handy players. Hope the Sunwolves can get the Japanese players to commit because they could be competitive quickly.
A lot of good news for Japanese rugby this past year. I hope it continues.

It's really hard to gauge how good these teams are to be honest. Good game though, and nice crowd.
