Patchell having an off kicking game, could cost us badly.

Not just his boot. Parch us showing why he's a 15 and not a 10.

Got to give that! Can't tell if his foot is actually in touch. Ball is grounded and advantage should be to the attacking team!

If we lose this game I will be gutted. Blues have been the better team and Edinburgh haven't looked like scoring a try.

At least it looks like the Blues know what they are trying to do. Unlike under B&B, Davies, Hammett etc.

Just need to make more of the opportunities.

Finally.

Vosawoi looks injured! That's not good, he has been great for us in the last few games :L

Needed that win, but made it way too hard.

Need a good win in Treviso next now, then can push for Europe.

Agree, top 6 needs to be the target now. Agree on Vosawai too, he's been great recently and l'm looking forward to him and Nic Williams as our 8's next season.

Always been a great fan of Vosawai, great guy and great player, another motm for him.

That was a typical Edinburgh performance, dogged in defense but clueless as ever with the ball in hands. Lucky to get away with a LBP.

Still not been offered a contact for next season apparently. He wants to stay, but think Wilson is still weighing up his NWQ options with Williams coming in.

Still would be great to have a massive carrier on the bench and lots of competition for the 8 shirt.

...though would swap him for a good second row, that's what we really need.

Similar style of player so they could be interchanged. No let up for th opposition if you see Vosawai coming on after 60 minutes of Williams.

Willian's gets lots of mom's for Ulster, hope he does the same for us.

I'd keep him but I suppose the nwq is a factor. Defiantly need a lock. Ian Evans and Bradley Davies will solve the nwq issue!

I had to go drive to the gym and work out for an hour to calm down before posting anything. This was a terrible game for Edinburgh, and Cardiff deserved to win. Now to why I am hacked off.

The ref failed to give a blatant yellow to Ma'afu who hit a man off the ball with his shoulder, no attempt to wrap and was not even looking at the ball! The TMO suggested it was not a yellow and he went with that! Coman is a big boy and it did not look too terrible, but that was dangerous play.

The tackle by 17 Blue (Thyer?) was unlucky, but after watching Hogg get sent off (and other players yellowed) for competing for the ball in the air over the past 2 seasons with their eyes on the ball and being told it is reckless if the player lands shoulder/head first, how is that tackle (player running at him and he goes low, the player is flipped on to his shoulder/head) not at least a yellow? Admittedly I have less an issue with this one as I think the rules and situation they were made for was not this, but that is a yellow in the modern game.

Anyway, I was apocalyptic after the game and wanted to join twitter just to complain about those two decisions to the Pro12. I have managed to calm down a little. Good win for Cardiff who were by FAR the better side.

A pleasant surprise. Don't often hear comments like that especially when it's team Wales time as it is now. Dunno about the incidents you mention. Maybe they'll show them on ChumV tomorrow.

Crossed the line 3 times but failed to score.

Made life hard for themselves, but Edinburgh didn't really get close to scoring,

Gameplan was good, some clever play defending the lineouts and it looked like the players knew what they were trying to do, but failed in some execution. I thought Patchell was actually quite poor today.

Got a lot of optimism for next season/the rest of this season though.

I concur. Qualifying for the toppermost euro comp would be nice, but maybe be a bridge too far.

Horror performance by Patch, no wonder Anscombe, and Morgan have been forced in to take 10 away from him, sooner he's up the road the better after that!

His defence is so consistently half hearted and weak, mind after what I saw of Preistland today too how Patch is behind him in the Wales pecking order I'll never know

Grim . Utterly grim game of rugby. Apart from the Fish try at 90 seconds the rest of the match was a completes disgrace and will /would /has driven fans away in droves. Referee was baws too btw.

Horror performance is a bit strong but I take your point. The kid needs to realise his strengths lie at 15, either that or he needs to change the way he plays at 10. It drove me insane the amount of times he ran across the pitch, eating up the space for the outside backs, then throwing a pass into touch or to the winger with no space to work in.

He's good enough for the Welsh squad but as a 15 who can cover 10 if required.

He wasn't doing that from first receiver. He was usually third or fourth and on a loop.

Not just Patchell doing this either, quiet a few Cardiff players do it.

I fact it opened gaps creating space and if Patchell had shorter toenails would have earned them a try.

What annoyed me was first or second receiver theowing a huge pass out to the winger when you have a seven to five overlap. All that happens then is the winger gets tackled.

I was reading an article on ex Randwick player (Ella brothers era) and Wallaby Coach Eddie Jones, where he was stating how coaching in the modern era the skill level and awareness in attack are appalling compared to thirty years ago.

The amount of time you see the overlap being called out by commentators only for the ball to get passed the other direction or a miss pace negating the overlap is ridiculous.

Didn't watch as it was the usual team Wales cwtch up, but I understand Martyn Williams said the C word apparently. Got away with it I think though.
