Playing in Person
I used to play quite a bit at local tournaments.
None of this casino rubbish but at local pubs and clubs etc.
I thought I would start this thread to act as a review and also advert for people to meet up at certain venues.
I come from Glasgow and my favourite venue is what used to be my local Rileys snooker club in Kirkintilloch. (Its now independent).
Every Sunday night the redtooth poker league runs with a £11 buy in. Usually about 25 people with top 3 getting money. Great atmosphere, never any trouble - check it out if you have a chance.
Another great venue is the Rileys snooker club in Solihull which runs tournaments on Mondays and Thursdays - another really well run tournament.
Final one to point out was Rileys in Kingston which I went to with Marky one night. run down venue and a punch up! Marky really should have kept his mouth shut!

There's a poker clulb in debden on the central line which has a tournament pretty much nightly.
They vary the type (limit, no-limit, rebuy etc) and also the entry fees.
In addition on a monthly basis there is also a 25k guaranteed prize fund.
I have no idea if that is of interest to anyone... but it's well worth considering if you like a game or two.

When I play live, which is rare, there's a great little club in Stanmore called The River Card club, has tournaments every night from the £10 rebuy to £100 freezeouts and sometimes bigger guaranteed tournaments.
