Cricket Moderator required
As the cricket section has picked up pace and getting busier we are looking to appoint a cricket mod in due course.
The role will require the person to keep an eye on this board for things like duplicate posts, wums and general anti social posting. You will have the ability to lock, delete, edit and merge threads.
The successful candidate should still consider themselves a normal poster for 99% of the time and only put on their moderator hat if need be - we don't want the mod to stop enjoying being a regular poster!
The other admins and mods will also help out where needed.
If you are interested in the role, can you please put yourself forward on this thread and we can take the matter further.

Re: Cricket Moderator required
Would be well up for it - I have only a few posts here at the moment, but should be using the site a lot more now 606 is gone. I have moderation experience on a couple of other sites as well.
Re: Cricket Moderator required
i'd do it, a three man team of me, liam and cricketfan would pretty much ensure that one of us would be on at any given time.
Considering i'm on my laptop nearly all day every day

Re: Cricket Moderator required
Personally, i am not bothered who is made moderator, its all good and there are next to no WUMS on here so it would be easy to moderate.

Re: Cricket Moderator required
Chaps - just a thought. It would good if one of the cricket moderators could always welcome new members to 606v2 and give them a friendly pointer towards the cricket part of the site.
I really like 606v2 and believe it has a lot to commend it. It still just needs a few more cricket contributors, particularly on the county threads.
There's less of a need on the Surrey threads although newcomers are always very welcome. As Chris Adams might say: ''We have a mix of home grown talent and quality signings. I'm particularly pleased our attempts to sign JimBobGooner from the original 606 came to successful fruition this week. He brings that X Factor and is already a massive influence in the dressing room.''

I know that given exams over the next month I wont be around as much as I would normally be, but I will throw my hat into the mix.
Possibly working below Liam and CF?

I think the lads are doing a good job of that anyway guildford, so I can't see that being an issue.

Re: Cricket Moderator required
Another good thing to attract other posters is by linking this site to other cricket forums. I know here in Holland there are a few forums that would welcome a link to this. Cricket is growing here and this site should take the bull by the horns and promote this on their sites.
Will the site eventually change its name from 606v2? It was a good name to attract posters from the 606 but it doesnt really say sports forum to the general populace.

I think if you know of other sites that don't mind promotion of other forums then why not. The only issue is when they start coming on here and doing the same thing which I know the admin aren't overly keen on.

Re: Cricket Moderator required
We did it on a snooker forum (Snooker Island) and it worked well and there were no hassels with advertisement. The pages i am refering to is pages setup especially to supply links to forums, they are not forums themselves.

So far people who have put their name forward are:
Liam Main
Hienrich
CricketFan
Hodge
The genius of PBF
Gregers
Sainty
Is there anyone else interested?
eirebilly, regarding links to other sites. We have a few on our portal page. We link their site in turn for a link to v2. If you know of any sites we could approach who might be interested, drop the Admin team a pm and we can take it further. Thanks.

Re: Cricket Moderator required
I'm not doing a campaign, or a speech as it didn't do me favours in the wrestling vote.
All I'll say is, I'm one of the lads, I'm a good laugh, I love cricket and I'll give this cricket section the love and care it wants!
