The Welsh Rugby WC top
Not going to put up a great huge post on this but I have just seen that it has a price tag of £89.99
The point of this thread?
Does anyone think that it is outrageous? Can't even find a picture of it to post, but we have a price!

Re: The Welsh Rugby WC top
That's ridiculously expensive, unless it's a really, really, really nice shirt, I can't see all that many forking out that much money for it.

£89 pound for a shirt, it will be out of date after the group stage, anyone buying a shirt needs their head examining. It would not be so bad if you could buy a plain red shirt with stick on decals and called it the Admiral multi-shirt!

That is the PLAYERS Test Shirt. The 'Replica' most fans would get would be this

at £54.99

I also think that it's outrageous, the WRU are intent on turning the "peoples game" into the elitist sport they think it should be, hence ticket prices and now 10 minutes of a barristers wages for a shirt, players or not.
Meanwhile the regions are trying to reduce costs for "real" rugby fans.

Why buy a shirt for £55 to say you are supporting Wales during the RWC, potentially Wales could be out at the group stages, can you get a refund if this happens (no chance)? It would not be so bad if you had a discount for match tickets if you wear a shirt to the game to identify true supporters.

Actually in 2007 Elverys Sport in Ireland had an offer where if you bought official Ireland gear you would get your money reimbursed if Ireland won the World Cup. It was never gonna happen but nice gimick.
Re: The Welsh Rugby WC top
You've had to pay around that price in NZ for a replica AB's shirt for years now. Welome to the modern world

I simply dont buy shirts at those prices. An Ospreys season ticket cossts £165 for 17 games (£9 a game) and they throw in a jersey too.
No way would i spend £50 or even £80 on a shirt, lol.

Kiwi:
The AB shirt will hardly age or go out fashion as it is all black and the away kit is all white. With Wales we had various reds, green, yellow, black, grey any colour to make money every year.

I'm sure Italian fans, Japan fans, etc. would still buy their nation's top even though they're unlikely to qualify from their group. Not buying it just because they may not play and extra game (1/4 final) seems a bit fickle to me.

Heh guys just think about it for a minute,£89.99p might seem alot for a shirt a Welsh shirt at that.
But just imagine if, if Wales actualy won the Rugby World Cup, thos shirts would be worth a lot more, dont you think?
Oh well you could always dream about it right.

Does anyone have a photo of what the shirt will look like? The links above don't show it. Or will it be the same as the existing one, but with the RWC logo on it as well?

Not sure if its been officially launched yet.
Hopefully it will have a picture like the David Haye one where he was holding up the severed head of the Klitschko brothers - have Adam Jones holding up the head of Dan Carter!

Yes but its basically a football looking shirt. It has no collar like a rugby top.
