Re: The GAA This Week
Prediction time:
Kildare by 7- Kildare have a game under their belts and won it handily in a gael (sorry) force wind. John Doyle being moved out the field will win too much ball. Meath in year one of project Banty (year 2 doesn't look likely at this stage) appear to be in disarray. change in style, change in personnel...division in the ranks. It all points to Kildare by a few.
Dubs by 5- The asian champions don't get in till early sunday morning, so jet lag is bound to be a factor as this one goes on. Laois have a game under their belts...they won, but looked horrid doing it. the Dubs need to make a statement and I think they will.
Kirri by 9- Limerick without their driving force in Galvin Grime have come back a bit from the last couple of years. Kerry leave their driving force Galvin Klein out. I heard a great expression the other day to describe the last kerry performance against Tipp. "they had a look at them, but they knew they had the clubs in the bag". Same again here imo. This will be more about bringing Kerry on than any serious threat to their ambitions.
Caark by 13- six changes to the starting line-up but it still looks a very strong side. Fiachra Lynch has to stake a claim in this game. More than enough motivation to really keep up the pressure. The Blaaahs will make a decent fist of it for a while I reckon but they'll run out of steam.
T'rown- by 5. Monaghan are at the end of their cycle I think. They'll be scarred by previous games against Tyrone when expectations have been a bit higher. Tyrone to win easing up.
Galway by 14- routine stuff as Galway ease their way into the championship
Kerry by 9- I reckon a side at the bottom of div 2 will have too much for one at the top of division 3. The Kingdom get their backsides handed to them more often than not in that division but the standard is so much higher.
London by 6- A pure guess. I know nothing about Louth.
Donegal by 3- Tyrone to stick it to their neighbours but come up short.....I base that on nothing but league positions.
Kildare by 7- Kildare have a game under their belts and won it handily in a gael (sorry) force wind. John Doyle being moved out the field will win too much ball. Re: The GAA This Week
GW's Predictions-
Kildare by 5- Far too much instability in the royal camp. Players will be unsettled and prob not anywhere near their best. For us too have any chance the forwards will need to be in sharpshooter mode and kildare make a repeat of those wides they kicked against wikla.. Even at that banty is under huge pressure for this one (make or break stuff really) and confidene will be low after a disastrous NFL.
Jackeens by 9- Confidence will be high in dubland with the media talking them up as favourites to topple the rebels from their championship perch. Loais were fortunate last time out after winning by one point but not convincing in the slightest. Dubs at a canter.
Kingdom by 11- Routine win imo. Kerry wanting to get a good a performance as possible for a possible final against Cork for the munster crown. Stade Limerique to open the game by putting up a determined and spirited fight but will be outclassed in the end.
Dork by 14- Cork will be far too classy for waaaaaaterford.
Trone by 4- Tyrone while still a good side are not the powerhouse they were a couple of seasons ago. I'd expect them to beat monaghan in this one despite a few important absentees like the mcmahons. Unfortunately this monaghan team have been devastated by this recession with the emigration of the freeman clan and a few others.
Hurling-
Galway by 15- Just can't see a shock win here. Eeeasy! Eeeasy! Eeeasy!
Kerry by 3- Think it could be close one but since I don't know anything about Kerry Hurling I'd say the team in the higher div will win.
Londain by 5- Londain to win as they've played against better opposition than louth this year
Trone by 1- Red hands to win it by accident

Re: The GAA This Week
Great this punditory, if that is the correct verb.
Meath by two, never underestimate the power of evil.
Ho chi minh trail by a single point an armagh man went up country and a bit like apocalyse now has set up his own kingdom expect nasty.
Kerry by an innings and five wickets perhaps duckworth lewis might start at centre half back for Stab.
Cork to win easing up 5 and 4.
Tyrone ageing team led by Brian I'M not as old as Graham to win on count backs against Monaghan under 16s.
Wee ball game
Galway by a bucket full because their worth it and as for the rest if its not eventually for 'LIAM' then does it really matter.
When do Kilkenny footballers appear.

Re: The GAA This Week
Just watched last week's Sunday Game. The Tipp/Cork game was cracking by the looks....and Cadogan actually behaved himself
Enjoyed the Dubs match as well, although they nearly messed that up!

Re: The GAA This Week
Cadogan coughed up the ball for the third Tipp goal and he did a bit of posturing that never made it to the highlights. Nothing at all really.
It looks like he'll be playing corner back tomorrow which is interesting. I don't know what to make of him, it is a difficult thing to be juggling the two codes.
Darragh O'Se got in trouble during the week for saying the Dub footballers were like Barcelona. Everyone thought he had lost the plot.....it was his kindly headline writer that landed him in it.
The mn was a cheating animal......but he knows his onions.

I saw that Rebel, he hit the ground with his hurley angrily, but nothing major. At least he didn't throw it, or hit someone else! If he had to choose, which do you think he'd go for? To me he's seems better at hurling?
I don't understand soccer at all, so saying the Dubs are like Barcelona doesn't make sense to me...ignorance is bliss

Re: The GAA This Week
To be fair to Cadogan, he did make a savage block earlier on to stop a certain goal.Should never have lost the ball though. I don't know if he is better at hurling but we have a greater need for him in hurling. People are targetting him now though cause they know he has a tendency to get "riled up".

Re: The GAA This Week
That's true Thom he did. Didn't he set up one of the Cork scores too? I can't remember who actually finished it tho.
You're also right about Cads being targeted. Although I quite like his fierceness sometimes, he needs to take care. He's not much use if he's sent off on a red.

Re: The GAA This Week
It was a sensational block......but its easier to remember him coughing up the ball. A bad mistake no doubt.
