Results Week 4
Macclesfield Town v Liaoning Whowin
I'm not saying 4-4-2 is dead, but I feel Whowin got the upper hand on Macclesfield today with Payet joining Moutinho and Lahm against Pogba and Weigl in the midfield battle. The other side of it would be Macclesfield with two upfront to get at Whowin but frankly I don't see Janssen and Fekir doing that much against Pepe and Silva (especially when supported by Lahm). I see this game as a tight one but one I see Whowin edging narrowly with a late strike from Payet.
Macclesfield Town 0-1 Liaoning Whowin
Payet

Manchester United v Chesham United
Hard to separate these two sides, both flooded the midfield, I initially thought Dybala would make the difference with Man U missing Vardy and Ibrahimovic due to injury but Viva putting Robben upfront was a good idea to fill in for those two. I think Martial and Dybala would link up well but they would only get so much joy against the Man U defence. Equally Meyer, Robben and Toni would get some joy but be limited by Chesham's defence and midfield. Even Stevens today.
Manchester United 1-1 Chesham United
Robben; Dybala
- Macc Town:
- -------------------------Horvath----------------------------
Hysaj-------------Tah------------Sule------------Willems
---------------------Weigl-----Pogba-----------------------
Sane-------------------------------------------------------Coman
--------------------Janssen----Fekir----------------
Subs: Duarte, Samper, Marlon, Coric, Gabigol, Kimmich
Similar to last week but Janssen & Fekir taking a old school big & little striker partnership role upfront. Janssen to hold up play & Fekir to act as the terrier. Allow possession in areas that aren't threatening but block channels to Aboubaker, have Tah outmuscle him. Suspect Blind will be slotted in at LB with their injuries, look for Sane to physically impose himself on him down that flank. Overall our team is much taller than theirs, don't be afraid to lump balls forward and use our height advantage on set pieces.
70m: Replace Sane & Janssen with Gabigol and Coric, go 4-2-3-1 with different attacking options
- Whowin:
- ---------------------------Subasic---------------------------
Lichtsteiner--------Pepe------------Silva---------------Blind
------------------Moutinho-----------Lahm--------------------
------El Ghazi--------------Payet-------------Valbuena-------
--------------------------Aboubakar--------------------------
INJURIES
LB Alex Telles
LB Kieron Tierney
WG/ST Edinson Cavani
BENCH
Iraizoz
Haps
Morgan
Rudy
Harrop
Andre
Dembele
If winning - Andre and Rudy on for Valbuena and Moutinho, fresh legs, move to a 4-3-2-1.
If losing - Andre and Dembele for Valbuena and Pepe, move Lahm to LB and Blind to CB getting forward when we have the ball. Remain 4-2-3-1.
TACTICS (100 words)
Their main threat is Pogba, and I want our midfield to get straight on him like a rash as soon as he gets the ball. I want the full backs to be a bit more cautious this week up against Sane and Coman presumably, match them for pace. Lukaku and the lack of keeper are big losses for them. Quickly counter attack, using the pace of Aboubakar and El Ghazi to get in behind and run at their defense, with the wingers having freedom to come inside and plenty of good passes coming from the midfielders, Payet the most attacking.

Team Talk
We're playing a slightly deeper line than normal to combat the attacking threat of Chesham. FB when attacking make runs to stretch their defenders and get balls in for Toni. Midfield look to position yourself and intercept the ball cut of the passing zones only press them when they come in our half. Alonso look to play in the FB attacking. Meyer get forward and join the attack. Robben look to drift in from the right and cut in look for spaces to attack. Toni play within the 18 yard box hold the ball up and pass others.
SUB 70 MIN IF LOSING
Toni off Kalou on
70 MIN IF WINNING
We'll play a 4-5-1
- Chesham Utd:
- Injuries - Cech,Lanzini,Kampl
-----------------Alisson
Bellerin -- Dragovic -- Abdennour -- Davies
---------Castro----Saul ---Aranguiz
------Belhanda---------------Martial
---------------------Dybala
Bench: - Daniels,Hernandez,Gamez,,Younes,Paloschi,Orellana, Meier
Team Talk (ignore if not allowed): Up against Viva. Shall look to exploit the full backs and contain the central midfield by pushing up
Tactics (10 words)
Centre backs to push up to keep their forward out and get tight to him
Full backs to overlap the wingers and whip balls in, make theirs cut inside.
Saul to sit infront of defense and cut supply
Castro to get about the midfield and be a goal threat
Aranguiz create from deep with balls in behind the defense
Belhanda to play tucked in and slide balls in behind
Martial to run at their right back and cut inside. Make runs into the box for crosses
Dybala to get on the slower defender and run in behind and finish clinically
Subs: Belhanda off & Meier on if losing go 4-4-2 diamond with Martial up top.
Final 5 if losing - Dybala/Saul for Paloschi/Hernandez - Launch it in the box

I was p*ssed off. But doesn't mean I'm the sort to hold a grudge and/or give you a defeat as retaliation.

I don't think anyone here would vote against someone because they've had a disagreement. Well I hope not.

No not at all! Didn't think my attack would penetrate them tbh without Lukaku! My only hope was to use set pieces due to the height of some of my players but it wasn't to be.
