Championship Results, Game Week 6
- Vancouver Tactics:
- Accrington Stanley v Vancouver Whitecaps
Injuries: Andrea Barzagli, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Harry Kane
------------------------ Horn ----------------------
De Sciglio --- Williams ---- Dante --- Azpilicueta
------------------------ Dier -----------------------
---------- Alli -------- Holtby ------ Rabiot -------
--------------- Tevez ------ Morata ---------------
Subs: Bardi, van Aanholt, Maggio, M Suarez, Lampard, Pirlo, Defoe
Subs: 75th minute - Defoe for Morata, fresh pacy legs to stretch game; 80th minute - Lampard for Holtby, experience and drive late in game; if losing, 75th minute bring on Defoe for Holtby, play 4-3-3 and more direct.
--------------------------------
Attacking:
- Direct approach; get ball forward quickly for strikers and CMs to attack defence
- Tevez run at defence with ball, make clever runs without
- Morata to play offside game, use pace to get behind
- Advanced midfield three drives game forward, make runs, keep momentum up and don’t let opponents get a second’s rest
Defending:
- Back four to sit, Williams man-marks main striker, Dante support alongside
- Full-backs track wingers, turn them inside for CMs to deal with
- Dier to marshal the defence; all four CMs to hustle, win tackles, and get ball forward
- Accrington & Vancouver Result:
- Accrington Stanley 0-3 Vancouver
AUTO WIN NO TACTICS FROM ACCRINGTON
Azzy has a ferocious strike force and that's without Kane. The centre backs could get done by a nippy, mobile forward. I'd look to bring in a replacement for Holtby I don't think he cuts it.
- Crawley Tactics:
- Ebbsfleet United v CRAWLEY TOWN
Injuries: Insigne, Goretzka, Totti
Kasper Schmeichel
Maicon - Eder Balanta - Phil Jagielka - Christian Fuchs
Javier Mascherano
Arturo Vidal - Danilo Cataldi
Goncalo Guedes ------------------------- Franck Ribery
Robert Lewandowski
Subs: Alex Craninx, Sergi Palencia, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Daniele De Rossi, Manu Garcia, Kelechi Iheanacho
--------------------
Away at Ebbsfleet, playing a 4-3-3/4-5-1.
I want us to play a free flowing style of football but with a very high work rate.
Schmeichel control the defence, Maicon and Fuchs overlap and get crosses in, but track back. Jagielka Balanta and Mascherano work together to keep Ebbsfleet out.
Vidal and Cataldi play as box to box midfielders, get forward with the ball, help Mascherano without the ball.
Guedes and Ribery target the fullbacks, cut inside to shoot or make space for Maicon and Fuchs overlapping.
Lewandowski upfront, bully the Ebbsfleet defenders, beat them in the air, shoot on sight.
(100 words)
-----------------
Subs 70 mins:
If winning: Cataldi off, De Rossi on. De Rossi an extra DM alongside Mascherano and Vidal, Guedes and Ribery to wide midfield in a flat 4-5-1.
If drawing: Cataldi off, Iheanacho on. Change to 4-4-2 with Vidal and Mascherano the midfield and Iheanacho with Lewandowski upfront. Push for the winner.
If losing: Jagielka off, Iheanacho on. Change to 4-1-3-2, Cataldi in CM, Guedes - Vidal - Ribery behind Lewandowski - Iheanacho. Push for goals!
- Ebbsfleet United Tactics:
- -------------------------Adrian---------------------
Ginter ----------Reid ---------------Alderweireld-----------Ghoulam
-----------------------------Elneny-------------------------
----------Kondogbia-----------------------------Pjanic---------
---------------------------- Tielemans------------------------
-----------------Ighalo---------------Aubameyang------------
Bench - Flanagan, O'shea, Lingard, Campbell, Rashford
Looking to dominate the midfield with our top drawer quartet and attack hard
Full backs mark one on one, get forward regularly, supply crosses/width all game long
Reid to mark Lewa, Alderweireld to cover and use his pace
Elneny/Kondogbia - sit deep, protect the CBs, pick up midfield runners, get the ball to CMs/forwards asap, cover full backs
Pjanic/Tielemans to swap where needed, triangles to get around De Rossi
Ighalo the hold up man if need to go long, but play through middle primarily with Aubameyang running in behind their slow defence. Aubameyang get wide, use overlaps with FBs
Subs
Winning 70 mins - Flanagan for Ighalo, Flanners goes to RWB, Ginter as 3rd CB, 5-4-1 diamond with Aubameyang pace
Losing 70 mins - Lingard/Campbell for Ghoulam/Elneny, 3-3-2-2 formation, Ginter as 3rd CB, Lingard/Campbell behind strikers, CMs pushing forward
- Ebbsfleet United & Crawley Town Result:
- Ebbsfleet United 2-1 Crawley Town
Pjanic-------------Iheanacho
Aubameyang
With the narrow formation United are playing I can see Crawley getting some joy from their FB getting crosses into Lewy but with 2 CB to fight against it is difficult. The Crawley defence needs to strengthen as I feel it is the weakest point maybe even give Mensah a chance, I would have hoped United attacked the Crawley FB but instead went to play centrally which limited their chances as the Crawley midfield is strong but because of the lack of quality of the Crawley defenders Auba was able to get beyond the defence. They managed to pull a goal back when they put the pressure on the United side. BamBam did well to expose the Crawley backline, I feel if Marky had a better defence they would have got a draw and maybe even a win.
Re: Championship Results, Game Week 6
I would say good game Olly, but sadly he's come up short on tactics again.
