White v Hughie Fury ordered by the BBBofC, team Fury turn it down?
Morning all,
Can anyone shed a little on this one. Apparently Dillian White and Hughie Fury were named to fight for the British title but team Fury have turned it down. Anyone know why? Has Hughie got something else lined up?
It would have been a good fight and revealed a little more as to where both fighters are right now.
Cheers

Dave Allen had previously said he would step up if either chose not to fight.

Read that too and thought it was weird. I thought maybe they didn't like one another but seems they get on fine.
Maybe Fury is ducking him or maybe Fury has a big fight lined up and doesn't want to risk it. I really don't know.
And I appreciate this probably hasn't helped much.....

Pathetic from the Fury's (sad as I like Uncle Pete). Basically Whyte looks dangerous, Hughie looks average, and they want to guide their boy to an easier shot at something Euro/World level.
Duck.
Duck.

Shades of Tyson Fury vs David Price going on here. Maybe Hughie will also surprise us in the future...

He has health issues:

We have all commented on his skin, so its pretty understandable

Could see there's something not right with him in his last fight. Looked extremely lethargic.
Shame though that many won't bother to read the article and carry on calling him a ducker.

A bit concerning that he is sanctioned to fight at all at the moment if this is right. Doesn't sound safe.

I like Hugie, I think he is the goods and if he has only been fighting at 30-40% then that's even more impressive

Hughie Fury frantically inviting any dangerous heavyweight in the world to be his friend on facebook so he can safely pull out of a fight citing that they're good friends so couldn't possibly fight.

There must be a health issue fighting when the body is covered in severe acne: the punches will burst the skin around the pustules and there will be blood and diseased gunk smearing the gloves, and the body and flying through the air.

I take back my previous comments. Wishing Hughie a speedy recovery.

hughie been given a good world rating from WBO recently too, seems to be sidestepping the british belt with or without whyte.
can't be good if he's running on half power all the time. we all know what it's like to be lethargic and fighting at the same time isn't an attractive option.

Fairly sure I haven't. Doesn't sound the sort of thing I'd say.

A 50 percent kayo ratio fighting stiffs will be a bigger problem than this skin thing though I wish him well..
Only way he beats Haye and Josh types is by gaining their respect or by out boxing them..
Seen no sign he can do either...Hasn't got Tyson's big personality either which can intimidate...

Doesn't say what the illness/condition is but doesn't look good.

Well he says it is just severe acne... which is apparently so bad it is causing problems with his immune system? Sounds odd to me. I've heard of immune system problems causing acne, but not the other way round!sohotnot wrote:Doesn't say what the illness/condition is but doesn't look good.

I guess he means more that his immune system is working so hard to fight the acne that it's strength is being diminished and therefore he's getting ill from other things that normally would be dealt with without issue.

At least the "Beauty and the Beast" tagline can be put on the backburner

Feel sorry for the guy because it can't be nice... but on the other hand I doubt he got picked on at school...

I bet he did, but it took him a couple of years to figure out he was being insulted.
However, something tells me Hughie's formative years were not spent behind a school desk
