Something he was very good in was Tenko, '80s BBC drama about a women's Japanese prison camp  during WWII. Gave a fine portrayal of the conflicting emotions of the camp's commandant Yamauchi.

Dave - before checking with IMDB, I hadn't realised or had forgotten that Burt Kwouk appeared in one episode of It ain't half hot, mum! I salute you as an authority on 1970s comedy gold.
