MK Dons 2 - 1 Accrington Stanley
(Sane, Lacazette) - (Dembele)
Olly has gone for a high line in defence, and is backing his CBs athleticism to be the difference. To me, this is a mistake up against players with the pace of Lacazette and Sane, and with Gundogan/Cesc able to find them, especially when Cesc is playing further up the field.
I think Accrington will have success with Dembele attacking Wendell, who is naturally quite attacking, but Miky has a great CB pairing and can see Origi struggling, especially with MK set up to keep a solid defensive line primarily
The midfields are set up in a very similar way, but MK just have the edge in quality throughout the sides, and I think a couple of through balls to Sane and Lacazette will be the difference in this one
Macc Town 2 - 1 Vancouver
Martial, Dybala - Mahrez
Interesting contrast in approach here. I can see Azzy's side frustrating Macc for much of the game, they're set up to sit deep as a unit and look for counter attacking opportunities, with the pace on the wings and Kane up top they're very well suited to that.
Hero has a great front 4, and I think they're right to target the CB unit, with Dante ageing and Ginter playing a lot of RB this season. I'd expect the quality to tell during the game
This game would have been far more interesting had Vertonghen or Dier been fit, at the moment I think Azzy's midfield just lacks the defensive presence to hold out all game long
Difficult to call, Vancouver will score on the counter early on, but at home I think Hero's side have enough to get a couple of goals, and control the game

- MK Dons tactics:
- Injuries: Sime Vrsaljko, Eljero Elia, Marco Reus
-----------------Zoet--------------------
Piszczek-Miranda-Marquinhos-Wendell
--------Gonalons---Gundogan----------
Sane----------Fabregas----------Ziyech
---------------Lacazette-----------------
Possession approach, look to dominate midfield area but keep a solid back line in case of them playing on the counter. Miranda and Marquinhos will be in charge of pressing Origi out of the game. Gonalons to protect the back 4 with Gundogan doing the running from midfield, Fabregas in the hole to unlock the defensive door of Accrington by working the ball patiently, looking to slide the ball into Lacazette who will be looking to get in behind. Use the 5 man midfield to control that area of the pitch, Ziyech look to cut inside centrally to support Fabregas.
Subs: Diallo, Nelom, Rekik, Palmer, Mandzukic, Aduriz
Mandzukic on for Lacazette - 80th Minute to get in and around the defence to give them a different style of player to deal with, applying the pressure.
- Accrington tactics:
- njuries - Muniesa, Butland, Romeu
Team (4-2-3-1)
Gomes
Trippier
Van Dijk
Shawcross
Cresswell
Drinkwater
Dembele M
Dembele O
Barkley
Bolasie
Origi
Subs
Arnuatovic
Bojan
Austin
Afobe
Capoue
Pieters
Shawcross

Trippier--------------Okore---------------------------Van Dijk---------------Cresswell
------------------------Drinkwater------------------Dembele M------------------------
Dembele O----------------------------Barkley-----------------------------------Bolasie
----------------------------------------Origi-----------------------------------------------
Tactics - we push up very high with our extremely athletic and energetic side. The defence has pace and power in abudance with Okore/Van Dijk at the heart, Drinkwater/Dembele M ruin their CM's, and our front four harry and when we get on the ball we are direct, attack at full speed looking to take on players and score as quick as possible.

- Macc tactics:
- -----------------Donnarumma---------------
Hysaj--------Tah-------Kimmich---------Luis
--------------Weigl---Gomes-----------------
Griezmann--------Eriksen------------Martial
-------------------Dybala-------------------
Subs: Horvath, Sule, Willems, Sanches, Iwobi, Barbosa, Pulisic
Tactics
Dante is no longer the rock he was so we will target him as the weak link of the team. Dier missing to means their back line isn't protected so the trio of Griezmann/Eriksen/Martial to alternate roles and mix going inside and out. FBs and wingers to double up in defence and attack. Gomes to spread the ball whilst Weigl tidies up.
Kimmich to mark Kane in dangerous areas, Tah get physical in the box. Overall fast paced play with balls into space using speed and trickery to drag players out of position.
Subs:
If losing/drawing at 70m - Sanches for Weigl, play B2B ala Pogba
If winning at 70m - Iwobi for Dybala, Griezmann goes up top.
- Vancouver tactics:
- acclesfield Town v Vancouver Whitecaps
Injuries: Jan Vertonghen + Eric Dier + Andrea Barzagli
--------------------- Horn ---------------------------
De Sciglio -- Ginter ---- Dante -------- Azpilicueta
Bellarabi - Alli --- Rabiot - Loftus-Cheek - Mahrez
-------------------- Kane ----------------------------
Subs: Bardi, Williams, Galloway, Schmelzer, Pirlo, Holtby, Huntelaar
Subs: 75th minute – Holtby for Loftus-Cheek, fresh legs to continue the pressure; 80th minute - Pirlo for Rabiot, give ball to launch attacks on counter.
--------------------------------
Attacking:
- Counter-attack setup; win the ball, get the wingers running and use their pace to exploit space
- Kane hold up ball: lay off, make runs into space, get ahead of man
- Midfield three to support attacks, only two at a time – use pace, run at defenders, make runs behind defenders, keep defenders guessing.
Defending:
- Whole team sits deep, no man-marking – CMs to support CBs to contain attackers
- Full-backs track wingers, turn them inside for CMs to deal with
- CMs to hustle, win tackles, and get ball forward quickly – launch the counter using the wingers
