Dear Martinez please KTFO Chavez jr
So it seems Chavez jr can do what he wants and win on the cards as long as its a no name Euro fighter. I hope Chavez gets KTFO by Martinez, he is a waste of space at the top end of the 160 division. dont mean to sound so annoyed but Zbik out hit him in the majority of the rounds. So what Chavez hit him to the body!!! he didnt stop him. Matinez.Clean up this joker, because Chavez Jr is useless. This was a HBO decision.

Re: Dear Martinez please KTFO Chavez jr
Wasn't the Mexican belt he was fighting for by any chance, was it..? Oh I see. It was. WBC losing credibility RAPIDLY. Haven't they stripped Martinez of two belts now only for those belts to he contested by Mexicans right after?

BALTIMORA.
I couldnt be with you more. HBO are crooks too. Kellerman and co must of been hating themselves acting like junior won that by 3 rounds, i pray thathe fights MArtinez cos that will be an absolute beatdown. Zbik hit him about 100 times more literally, but he is foreign and cant punch so of course Chavez got the nod. joke

Re: Dear Martinez please KTFO Chavez jr
I didn't watch it, but just read a round-by-round which ended with '115-114 Zbik, but I won't be surprised if I'm overruled'. Basically everyone knows that anything even remotely close was gonna be a Chavez win. Makes it worse that Martinez should have the belt. I hate this sport when it's like this. I'm surprised Froch has been allowed to hang onto his belt for this long...which Mexicans are at 168?

Re: Dear Martinez please KTFO Chavez jr
First off, compubox stats for this fight:
http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/view.php?pg=chavez-zbik-compubox
I know compubox isn't perfect, but they had Zbik throwing more while landing a higher percentage, which applies to both jabs and power shots.
Secondly, Martinez is apparently looking to exercise his right as the WBC 160lb 'champion emeritus' to an immediate shot at Chavez Jr after his win over Zbik:
http://www.boxingscene.com/sergio-martinez-exercise-immediate-shot-chavez-jr--39994
This in particular puzzles me, as Martinez won the WBC middleweight title from Pavlik in April of 2010, and defended it against Williams in November. When he faced Dzinziruk though it was apparently for the VACANT WBC DIAMOND middleweight title.
Basically, how the $@#* have the WBC been allowed to strip Martinez of a belt solely in order for Chavez Jr to be able to pick it up, in order that Martinez can 'challenge' for a belt he should really still hold?!?
The WBC can stick their belts up their collective bum; they're a laughing stock!

I bet the WBC will; sanction something that allows Chavez Jr to avoid Martinez.
The WBC will protect him all they can, no organisations have any credibility nowadays.
Martinez will struggle to get the big fights for the last couple of years of his career, he scares guys to death. I couldn't contemplate Martinez getting into any trouble against Chavez Jr.

Was it a robbery though? A genuine question as I haven't seen the fight but from reports, Chavez landed less but landed the far more harder and important punches?
Like I said I haven't seen but from what I read he probably did do enough.

Being born in Mexico? Yeah, that was probably enough!
Seriously though, I do know what you mean and a close result is not daylight robbery, but still...this fight certainly gives the impression of being wrapped in a bow for Chavez.

Re: Dear Martinez please KTFO Chavez jr
no it was a robbery the guy pummelled him with clear head shot, so what he didnt knowck him out? all chavez did was stick his head down and throw body punches. It was a complete joke. If we were to say Zbik doesnt get it because of 'effective work' then Calzaghe never would of one a fight in his life that went the distance. Disgusting result i loath Chavez jr and cant wait for him to be ko'd

I liked it when the camera went over to Martinez who had a massive grin on his face and I think it was Kellerman who said Martinez looked so happy hoping he would be fed either one of Chavez or Zbik. Martinez would make short work of both.

But really though, what's the point? They fought for the belt Martinez had been conveniently stripped of. Jose Sulaiman's as crooked as a dog's hind leg. Now we're meant to be excited at the prospect of Martinez taking on the new WBC 'champion'? It's a huge farce.

Martinez aside the rest of the division is pretty rubbish at the moment which limits his options. Moving up to Super Middleweight I can't see working for him as he hasn't been a middleweight long and could most likely make Light Middleweight still. Also with Froch and Ward due to fight each other and Bute set to fight a hapless French guy in July it only really leaves Kessler as a worth while opponent. Sturm is the best option at Middleweight but he's got a fight already and probably won't leave Germany. Martinez has got to beat someone up and my preference would be that it's Chavez even if it is for a belt he should already own.

Isn't Chavez managed by Bob Arum and Martinez by GBP? Fight might not happen anytime soon Chavez.

Re: Dear Martinez please KTFO Chavez jr
Bellchees you make a good point about where Martinez's options lay. It's just that what it seems to have come down to is whether or not he face the Chavez/Zbik winner as champion or challenger. It's all entirely irrelevant politics because those like you and I know that Chavez isn't a legit champion, he's just a guy who's holding the belt. It's infuriating.
If Martinez fights and beats Chavez Jr it won't make it a better win just because Chavez has that green strap.

Re: Dear Martinez please KTFO Chavez jr
i dont care whats at stake, Chavez is a phoney and to get to 40odd and 0 must of fought blind women for the first 39 fights of his career. Martinez would literally turn him inside out in 3 rounds.

I'm not disputing that his record's padded, but through giving him such an undeserved title shot and him winning, Martinez's record then starts to become padded in a sense-he fights Chavez, beats him and in doing so he beats a 'champion', technically. Everyone knows that's not really the case, but the records record it as such.

Like i said i haven't seen it, just heard Zbik outlanded although I do not know by what amount but Chavez from the report i read landed all the significant shots and 'devastating' body shots?!?
I'll have to watch myself, i'm not keen on Chavez as he's never looked impressive to me and would like Martinez to regain his title which was his anyway!
Roach no doubt will duck him, that's his style.

Zbik himself said the body shots took a toll, was pretty close as Chavez jr took over the fight after getting his head boxed off for the first half or so.
115-114 was a fair score, 116-112 was a bit much for me but i guess one round the other way and it's 115-113 which was still pretty reflective on how i had it.
Won't go near Martinez unless armed with a shotgun and Arum wangles it so he can stand inside a kevlar reinforced tank
