Olly - nothing is ruled out but I would be surprised if Meaker were rested. He's bowling fast, making things happen and taking wickets. Also, Stewie likes him.
I would put Sam or Footitt at more risk for Tom's return. Not impossible that both would miss out if Dernbach also plays. Probably unlikely that Dernbach will be in the eleven but I reckon he could make the squad.

Evening Corporal - I can't see Batty standing down now we're into August. The time for that imo was the early weeks of the season.
I suspect Stewie's idea of a rest for Tom Curran was him going off with the Lions!

I think Footitt will play - he's been in better form recently and is well rested.

Tom for Sam seems the likely switch. I can't see Dernbach getting a game unless there are some more injuries.

Re: SURREY VS MIDDLESEX ROYAL LONDON CUP
There's sense in saying to Dernbach, ''You've bowled brilliantly in the recent limited overs games and given it everything. Have a breather now whilst the 4 dayer is on at Lord's.'' That limits changes and any disruption to the CC team whilst it should also keep Dernbach onside.
I can though see him coming into contention with the red ball before the season is out. Mind you, Rampaul should also be available by then which will add to the selection fun!
