Meaning.... that Olly forget the propensity of Surrey to expose their weakest tail end batsman to as much strike as possible!?

For the final single, the commentary reckoned they were looking for two but couldn't make it. So a misjudgement rather than Sam selling out Footit to get his fifty.

Brilliant effort by Baby Face in what always looked like a losing cause once we lost early wickets. Kudos to Durham players for a great game, but not to those of their supporters who booed and otherwise verbally abused Roy as he left the field on his dismissal. He may or may not have hit the leather off the one where he was given not out when nine but that kind of reaction from a small knot of their following was unworthy of the magnificent game and the splendid all round effort of a gutsy Durham side.
Well played Durhan and see you next season in CC1. Please bring your best game to the Oval where you will be warmly welcomed. Please do not bring a small handful of your fans - leave them behind, safely locked away at home, 300 miles away.

yep guildford in hindsight we should have played ravioli and Davies instead of batty and TCguildfordbat wrote:jimbobgooner wrote:No idea why we are playing two spinners in this game how we could have done with the extra batsman
Bang on, JimBob. It's not as if it's come as a surprise either!

While I agree that Norah was a curious choice as a specialist batsman at 9, I'm not sure an extra batsman helps if your top 3 - most unusually - contribute barely 100 between them over two innings. It was just one of those games.
On the plus side, Le Roy looks in great nick as does Zaf with the bat at least, while Baby Face had just another routinely outstanding game to add to all the others this season. Footitt and Meaker have hit their straps, while Kumar will not want to end the season with three successive (by his standards) low scores, ditto That's All. So fingers crossed it all clicks on Saturday.

Whilst the failures of our top 3 couldn't be foreseen, the lack of bowling from Batty could. As an alternative to Batty, the inclusion of Harinath to try and bolster the batting might have prevented it from being just one of those games.
It's a game of opinions and that's mine - may not be right but, in fairness, I did state it before the game.
I say Harinath rather than Davies as the latter was left out as ''a precaution'' due to a sore hip according to Stewart, quoted by Richard Spiller in today's Surrey Ad. Davies is expected to play tomorrow. That might make you feel better, JimBob.
Spills also quotes ''Oval sources'' as saying they are ''optimistic'' that Sanga will sign for next year.

Very good, JimBob!
Guess you are almost ready with the new thread. Sibley 12th man tomorrow, you reckon?

I reckon Gary Wilson will be on his bike soon (to Leics has been mentioned). I can well understand that but will still be sorry to see him go.
