I still think Hastings and Connor Eastgate (on the bench for Wasps this week) will unfortunately both struggle to break through and get meaningful game time playing for big clubs like that.
Hastings has benched for the last two games and in the first did not get on, then got 10 mins for the second.
Eastgate did not even get on.
If Ford does move on from Bath, then don't think for a minute that they won't be bringing another established FH in to replace him. It is no better at Wasps (where some think Ford may eventually end up with Cipro heading to Toulon), where good FHs are queuing up. I think for both these young men, moving on to clubs where they will be allowed to get enough game time to develop properly would be something that both should be thinking carefully about.
We really do need some promising FHs for our Scottish clubs, surely someone should be running the rule over the two of them.
