WTA Finals
I've been critical of the ladies tour for a few years. Since Henin retired it's been a poor standard (save for Serena). However, this year has been far stronger with the likes of Kerber and Pliskova stepping it up significantly.
The year has culminated with an outstanding WTA finals, with Cibulkova beating Kerber in two high quality sets in the final having lost the first two matches in her group. Most group matches went three sets and (apart from Muguruza) everyone played excellent tennis.
Fantastic to see Cibulkova winning. She's by far my favourite player on the WTA - outright aggressive tennis on every shot, despite being only 5"3. Amazing for her to win the year end championships.
Kudos to the ladies!

Re: WTA Finals
Kerber has been the outstanding player this season and it was a surprise she was beaten today.
With Sharapova out, Azarenka injured and S Wms no longer so dominant, the women's tour has been a bit more interesting this year, particularly - from a British point of view - given the rise of Konta.

Re: WTA Finals
I'd be a bit annoyed if I was Kerber going into the final with a 4-0 record against someone I'd already beaten who has a a 2-2 record in the tournament. Kerber also, going by the wikipedia article here, won her semi final easily while her opponent was a tiebreak away from losing in straight sets.
It's somewhat unsatifactory, although there is no easy solution to it however.
