Australian Open - Day Two
The most intriguing match of the day is Djokovic V Verdasco. Also in action are young pretenders such as Thiem, Raonic and Dimitrov. Jo Konta, Naomi Brody and Kyle Edmund are the three Brits in action.

Blisteringly hot conditions today. Rafa Nadal through nicely in straight sets, Jo Konta also through in straight sets and looks set to be joined in similar fashion by Kyle Edmund.

Heather Watson on the brink of a great win over No 18 seed Sam Stosur in three sets. Five Brits through with Naomi Brody in action later.

Dkojo is winning his match.

He's like a pantomime -
He's playing well now
Oh no he isn't
Oh yes he is

Yes Verdasco blowing hot and cold. You just can't beat a player of Djokovic's calibre playing like that. Novak now leads 6-1 7-6 and will want this done in three sets. Marathon match going on between Karlovic and Zeballos at 11-10 to Karlovic in the final set.

Djokovic wins comfortably 6-1 7-6 6-2. Job done.
Meanwhile, after five hours Karlovic and Zeballos are still locked in battle at 20-20 in the fifth set.

Karlovic came through 22-20. Pathetic - I was expecting them to challenge Isner v Mahut
Certainly looks like Novak did a solid professional job beating a guy who can sometimes be dangerous.

Tough to judge Djokovic today I reckon. The two sets he won comfortably were more down to the countless unforced errors from Verdasco on really makeable shots. The one set that he was competitive in and looked like winning at 4-3 (mini-break up in the second set tie-breaker) he was more consistent. Still all Novak can do is play his own game and he got it done far easier than I think even he thought it would be.

A gallant effort by Naomi Brody who has lost in three sets against Gavrilova.
