NZ v Australia ODI
Eden Park Auckland...
Broom and Guptill , and Neesham. , propelled the home team to an apparently slightly underwhelming 286. But as the Australian top order disintegrated against Boult and Ferguson it seemed this game would be over about the first drink break...
Faulkner and the surprising Stoinis (who also had a handy day with the ball) have doubled the score from 67/6 : but with another 150 required from the last 18 overs and only the bowlers to come they are going to have to pull off something of a miracle.

Re: NZ v Australia ODI
Munro bowls Faulkner to just about seal this one even with a third of the overs to go
Stoinis and Cummins (who has struck some nice blows) are soldiering on ; but it looks to be matter of when...
120 needed off the last 13. Eight of which will be bowled by the pace trio.

Re: NZ v Australia ODI
Cummins stumped for an enterprising 36...smart bowling from Santner.
Stoinis now taking up the mantle of big hitter : three sixes from this Neesham over (surely his last !)
Aussies just won't lie down...need 70 off 8.

The heroic Stoinis now 98 but he's lost another partner as Starc holes out off Santner...
Last man Hazelwood can see him to a hundred , one hopes ? But the game is done.

Re: NZ v Australia ODI
Stoinis gets his century with a six off Boult
His first international hundred and it has been a terrific one ; though surely in a losing cause. They actually only need another 43 off the last six overs , which is closer than I ever expected after the early carnage ; but with just one wicket left you'd think this is only going one way...Hazlewood yet to face a ball while Stoinis targets the surrounding countryside...

Re: NZ v Australia ODI
Incredible scenes as Stoinis hits his ninth six and steals the strike again as a panicked NZ miss an easy run out...
Just 26 needed now. If Boult or Southee can't finish this he'll have two overs from the part timers to win it. Hazlewood still just a running partner.

Re: NZ v Australia ODI
Raining sixes ! Just seven more needed now...
This will be one of the most astonishing performances ever ...
Except Hazlewood has been brilliantly run out at the other end . What an amazing match
NZ by six runs.

Re: NZ v Australia ODI
So a win for the home team - a deserved one. But nobody will begrudge the award of MoTM to a player (unusually) on the losing side in the person of Stoinis after that incredible 146 no to follow his 3/49.
Have seen him play some handy innings in domestic cricket ; but I honestly didn't imagine he had that in him.
