West Ham have gained edge over London's Olympic stadium fate
West Ham have won the backing of Olympic bosses over the fate of London's Olympic stadium as they have been reckoned to have made a better bid than Spurs (Tottenham Hotspur) according to BBC London:

I think that's definitely very good news for the whole of British athletics fraternity!

Let's hope Boris and the government agree with the OPLC.

I'm really glad about the outcome of the whole situation, Im-no-athlete. Where things had come to, I think that was the obvious and only real way. You can't dispense with an Olympic stadium like that. Simple as that. Spurs may be my second favourite side behind Manchester United in England, but I'm glad West Ham got the nod!
Here's BBC story on the latest development that seals the fate of the new Olympic stadium in favour of West Ham:

Legendary Steve Cram also believes that the right decision was made to award West Ham the right to employ the Olympic stadium as their home ground post 2012, thus ensuring of the athletics track staying in place:

Really glad too, the plan of Spurs was simply shocking, not even their own fans wanted a part of it.
