Re: Martin Jol gets Fulham job
Fulham have appointed Martin Jol as their new manager following the departure of Mark Hughes last week.
The former Tottenham and Ajax boss joins Fulham on an initial two-year contract, with the option to extend it for a further year.
Jol said: "I am very happy to join Fulham. It is a club with good, solid foundations and a great fan base.
"I am looking forward to being part of the Fulham family and thank the chairman for the trust shown in me."

A good appointment I think, and Fulham should be just fine this year. They seem to be perpetually mid-table, but I would take that myself!
If Jol sticks it out for any length of time they have the chance to break back into the Europa League places...but the way the Tottenhams and Liverpools are strengthening, 7th may be the best they would do...

I think this is a very good appointment, I always felt Jol was harshly treated at Tottenham and still had something to prove in the Premier League, he's probably the best manager they could have got.

That's the BBC Sport report if you wanted any more detail, no offence Hobo
He is a very talented manager and I think that he proved that with his time at Spurs. I agree with the above that he was harshly treated at White Hart Lane and he'll want to prove something at Fulham. Great appointment in my opinion.

Its a great appointment for me, I always felt he got a raw deal at Spurs after consecutive 5th place finishes just because Levy wanted Ramos, if Hughton joins him it could be great business for Fulham and a natural successer if Jol does well and moves on

Good appointment,Great fit at their club and will bring some attractive football.
Wanted him at Albion when Di Matteo got the sack, with his link as an ex-player,but that's all in the past now we've got Roy 8)

Better than expected actually. Was a bit worried after some comments from fans of liverpool/fulham about the style.
I'm not sure he could ever play horrible football with the players we brought,as they were brought to fit the style of Mowbray/Di Matteo. We're a lot more direct in terms of getting it away from the penalty area, but then once we've got to the halfway line,it's just as good.Played liquid football at times,Scharner goal away at Sunderland was best of our season imo.
Re: Martin Jol gets Fulham job
Yeah that was a top goal, iv never understood teams who play football in their own half anyway
