Typical the game I can't get to is a cricket score. I guess Cardiff had the kids out.

Me too a little LT. I suspect it was in reaction to the poor showing against your lot and that we're fancying a crack at one of the cups this season.

Not so great in the scrum TJ. He's played TH pretty much the whole time at Falcons and we've struggled for well over a year now, regularly battered. I think this could be more that our LH is sub standard rather than Welsh, but it's not been nice to watch.

Silly really, surely a Friday night would be the best option considering the majority of Falcons supporters play or coach on a Sat/Sunday.

I guess they're hoping for the football crowd.
I think Friday would have been great, never get this at St James in the pram.
20k would be fantastic, I think 12 may be more realistic.

As GF says, I've heard 20k being rumoured. Anything above half that is not bad I suppose, depends what the break even mark is.
I'm not sure FP, we've not been playing too well either.

Pretty pointless game...although Lockwood, Fonua and Penny all got back on the pitch after long term outs.

Lockwood and Fonua are really needed right now. We're having a serious dip, some go forward and a solid scrum would really help.

The thing that's puzzling me sarge is Burrows. A huge lump of a man...a heavy duty carrier and captain...
Why on earth is he not playing??
Sometimes Dean selections really puzzle me.
Agree though Fonua and Lockwood are needed

We took our foot off the pedal in the 2nd, it's only natural.
Scrum took a battering as normal, but the speed they got it out was impressive. Scotty Wilson is well off the pace but Lockwood seemed solid and carried like a beast!
I thought all the pack went well tbh. Radwan again, possibly the pick of the backs with Willis.
How good was Sowery!

Yeah Sowery was very good.
Radwan looks a world beater already! If We can Kibirige back up to speed...that'll give us
Radwan, Kibirige and DTH as fliers and Goneva and Sinoti as bruisers. Top quality.
Scotty Wilson has been out so long he's bound to look rusty. It will take him a while to get remotely up to speed. But Dean will just keep giving him gametime...lets hope he stays fit!

The style of league rugby in France will probably suit him more than the AP. For the 5 minutes every 4th game when he can actually be arsed (and is fit) he looks awesome - but for the rest of the time a complete waste of space. Someone who maybe was hired by Tigers and Falcons based on highlights reels and hope rather than any genuine critical appraisal.

Yeah very true...
My concern though LT is that Fonua has barely been used this season despite being slimed down trimmer version...but also big Ryan Burrows who has looked outstanding at 8, is only playing in Anglo Welsh and Development games.
He should be starting for the 1st team at a time when we are missing some dump truck style forward carrying. Its little things like that, which does make me confused about Dean Richards....

I do sometimes wonder if us fans are over seduced by players carrying ability. Most coaches seem to prefer work rate over explosive carrying. For every Billy V who seemed to have harnessed both workrate and carrying, we have any number of players like Fonua who coaches seem to view as a luxury.

True...but if you look at our pack its predominantly work rate orientated (Vickers is poor LH but Is an absolute workhorse...as is Welch, Wilson, Robinson , Calum Green, etc etc)...we don't have a great carrying pack. Latu did a lot of work in that area and when Fonua hasn't done the job required...Burrows was brought in to do the job. Yet he seemingly hasn't played much at all for the 1sts...I just cant work it out. But he has been outstanding...and is tough.

Hi GeordieGeordieFalcon wrote:Cyril wrote:Hello Falcons fans
I'm planning on going to the Bath game on 17th Feb with my girlfriend (we're in Newcastle for the weekend for my birthday).
Can we just buy tickets from the Falcons website? Any tips on which standing/sitting tickets to get? It's our first trip to Kingston Park.
Recommendations on travel to the stadium, pubs etc? We'll be staying in Newcastle centre.
Thanks!
Hello mate,
Nice to hear your coming up. Hopefully you'll enjoy the experience.
As to your questions....
1.
Yes you can buy tickets for the game on the falcons Website.
2.
Which ticket depends on what you want.
The South Stand is the crazy vocal all falcons fans one.
The North stand (where I stand) is where the real men stand! It has no roof, is permanently blowing a hooley, several degrees below...etc
The West stand is the best one...brand new all seater undercover and where most of the away fans tend to go. You'll pay near £40 per ticket. Id probably recommend that one as its a good viewing stand for the game.
3.
The stadium has two main bars. The tap and tackle, in the East Stand, which is a nice big bar, lots of screens and has a good vibe. Its always busy long before the game and is good crack.
The other main bar is in the West Stand. Big standard stadium stand bar going the whole length of the stand. It has screens, often entertainment and It is always busy as well.
Either bar you'll pay around £4.50 a pint and I don't think theres any cash points so bring lots with you.
4.
From the city centre, you need to be going to Kingston Park (Gosforth). A taxi will probably cost you £10-20 each way. Or you can get the metro as most fans do (about £4.00 for an all day pass). Go to Monument Metro station ..right in the very centre of town. You will need to get the Airport metro which is the one Kingston Park lies on. Getting to the stadium from the metro is a little tricky...but normally I just say follow the mass of fans
After the game...get yourself oot in the toon and have a fab night!
Sorry for not replying before (and thanks for your help with this)
We're going to be in Newcastle on Saturday 24th March for the Saints game. I've been on the Falcons site and its a bit confusing in terms of booking tickets. I've tried to find a plan for the ground that corresponds with the numbers/letters given on the Falcons ticket ordering. We want to be pretty central (West or East Stand?) and don't mind paying the premium, but it's tricky to work out where we'll be based on what the site says.

hello Mate
The Saints game in March is being held at St James park (Newcastle Uniteds Ground). Probably best just to ring up and speak to the ticket office.

I have just seen that Gary Graham has been called into the England training squad.
He has really made some impression this season then, having been playing for Jersey then semi pro in Scotland prior to that.
Is he really good enough to be an international and have Scotland missed the boat?

Scotland definately missed the boat mate. He has been outstanding this season...really physical and tough.
I'm actually shocked he's not going for Scotland as he's Scottish as his dad was.(another great for the falcons)

Well electric young winger Adam Radwan and bull dozing young flanker Simon Uzokwe have signed new contracts.
Great stuff, as they are big prospects and these are the type that are now staying instead of the mass exodus.
Two young lads have been promoted to the senior academy aswell...a flanker from Mark Wilsons club in cumbria , the other is a young winger who is described as a big physical style of player. That's very interesting as we seem to struggle producing big backs.
