Bobby Heenan
Just heard of his passing. Not often a celebrity death hits me but this has knocked me a little. My favourite wrestling personality, ever.
An absolute genius of a man and the best ab libber in the history of the business. Imagine a prime Bobby Heenan show on the network today? Epic!
I'm one sad humanoid tonight.
R.I.P Bobby.

Unquestionably one of the all time great talkers. A sad loss for the great sport of professional wresting. RIP

Would implore you to go watch his hall of fame induction speech from 2004 on the network - about an hour in. An entertainer to the end

Re: Bobby Heenan
Bobby Heenan for me was the best commentator and manager ever.
Him and Gorilla were very good together.
Always made me laugh.
There were/are some real ham n eggers in wrestling.
Heenan was anything but.
One of the real highlights of watching wrestling in any era.

Re: Bobby Heenan
The best, I actually thought of him a few weeks ago and wodered how his health was as I hadn't heard about him in a while then a few days later I read that he had to pull out of a meet and greet due to ill health, he was unrecognizable in the end, he made Paul Heyman look like Mike Adamle.
Heenan was the first heel I ever liked, long before it was cool to like heels, I never routed for him but just thought he was mesmerizing, it was a different time but he made guys like King Kong Bundy and The Barbarian interesting all because he spoke for them and you knew there was a good chance he'd get involved in a match, his commentary was second to none, the 92 Rumble is still the brass ring any colour commentator has to reach, everyone talks about his chemistry with Gorilla Monsoon, they were the best due of all time for me but he had that same chemistry with Vince, Macho and Roddy Piper when they all shared the desk with him too.
I think him getting sick in 2002 and not being able to work again for WWE kinda cemented his legacy, he was always going to be a legend but the fact he couldn't return to potenially spoil it kept him special, there would've definitely been a place for him in WWE these past 15 years if he was able.
When you call someone a GOAT in Pro Wresting theres usually always some resistances as there's usually plenty of other contenders but for me Heenan was the GOAT manager and the GOAT colour commentator
